The Profile of Immunophenotype and Genotype Aberrations in Subsets of Pediatric T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Conclusion In conclusion, our results show 8 T-ALL subgroups identified by flow cytometry. These subsets are characterized by distinct molecular profiles, as ETP-ALL and mature T-ALL subtypes, classified according to CD4 and CD8 expression. Nevertheless, immunophenotypic subtypes, classified based on T-cell differentiation, was not predictive for outcome. Of the molecular alterations, only mutations in NOTCH1/FBXW7 and STIL-TAL1 rearrangement had a prognostic impact independent of immunophenotype.
