Associations between Greenness, Impervious Surface Area, and Nighttime Lights on Biomarkers of Vascular Aging in Chennai, India

Conclusion: Greenness, ISA, and NTL were associated with increased SBP, DBP, and cPP, and with reduced FMD, suggesting a possible additional EVA pathway for the relationship between urbanization and increased CVD prevalence in urban India. https://doi.org/10.1289/EHP541 Received: 20 May 2016 Revised: 03 January 2017 Accepted: 23 January 2017 Published: 02 August 2017 Address correspondence to K.J. This study investigates the distribution of femoral metastases in cancer patients, specifically addressing the incidence of distal femoral metastases. PET/CT examinations routinely extend only to mid-thigh level, precluding detection of distal metastases. We found a total of 208 femoral metastases in 112 patients. 30% had distal femoral metastases in addition to other areas of involvement. 7% of patients with femoral metastases had only distal femur disease. 6 patients had distal pathologic fractures. Exclusion of the distal femur during PET/CT may result in a missed or delayed diagnosis that could contribute to the develo...

Authors: Xu H, Dong L, Bin Z, Yansong H, Shaofeng L, Chang L, Chen C, Changli W Abstract Despite the excellent efficacy and low toxicity of photoresponse therapy, which has attracted considerable attention for use in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) therapy, unsatisfactory cellular permeability, and instability, both in vitro and in vivo have limited further clinical applications of indole cyanine photosensitizers. Here, we explore the supramolecular self-assembly of a 'hyalurosome' that is mediated by calcium phosphate nanonuclei. Through hyaluronate-mediated CD44 targeting, the constructed hyalurosome...

Despite the increasing morbidity and mortality of the opioid epidemic, the rates of pain medication use among the urogynecology patient population is not known. Our objective was to describe the baseline prevalence of preoperative opioid and neuropathic pain medication use in patients presenting for urogynecologic surgery and to determine whether this rate changed before and after passage of anti-opioid state legislation.
