Transcriptome and proteome analyses reveal that upregulation of GSTM2 by allisartan improves cardiac remodeling and dysfunction in hypertensive rats
In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that allisartan can effectively control blood pressure in SHRs, and improves cardiac remodeling and cardiac dysfunction. Allisartan may also upregulate the expression levels of GSTM2 in the hearts of SHRs and significantly affect glutathione metabolism, as determined by transcriptome and proteome analyses. The cardioprotective effect of allisartan may be mediated through activation of the PI3K-AKT-Nrf2 signaling pathway, upregulation of GSTM2 expression and reduction of cardiomyocyte apoptosis in SHRs.PMID:38590561 | PMC:PMC11000455 | DOI:10.3892/etm.2024.12508 (Source: Experim...

Matrix mechanics regulates muscle regeneration by modulating kinesin-1 activity
Biomaterials. 2024 Mar 29;308:122551. doi: 10.1016/j.biomaterials.2024.122551. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSarcopenia, a prevalent muscle disease characterized by muscle mass and strength reduction, is associated with impaired skeletal muscle regeneration. However, the influence of the biomechanical properties of sarcopenic skeletal muscle on the efficiency of the myogenic program remains unclear. Herein, we established a mouse model of sarcopenia and observed a reduction in stiffness within the sarcopenic skeletal muscle in vivo. To investigate whether the biomechanical properties of skeletal muscle directly impact the ...

U2AF2-SNORA68 promotes triple-negative breast cancer stemness through the translocation of RPL23 from nucleoplasm to nucleolus and c-Myc expression
CONCLUSION: U2AF2-SNORA68 promotes TNBC stemness by retaining RPL23 in the nucleolus and increasing c-Myc expression, which provides new insight into the regulatory mechanism of stemness.PMID:38594783 | DOI:10.1186/s13058-024-01817-6 (Source: Cell Research)

Total ginsenosides decrease A β production through activating PPARγ
CONCLUSIONS: TG treatment reduced the production of Aβ both in vivo and in vitro. Activating PPARγ might be a potential therapeutic target of TG in facilitating Aβ clearance and ameliorating cognitive deficiency in APP/PS1 mice.PMID:38593704 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2024.116577 (Source: Biomedicine and pharmacotherapy = Biomedecine and pharmacotherapie)
