FUS regulates the alternative splicing of cell proliferation genes related to atherosclerosis
Exp Biol Med (Maywood). 2023 Sep 9:15353702231187642. doi: 10.1177/15353702231187642. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFUS plays a significant role as an RNA-binding protein in several cellular processes, including RNA splicing, DNA repair, and transcriptional regulation. However, the RNA-binding capacity of FUS in atherosclerosis is unclear. We aimed to study the functions of FUS in inflammatory regulation through the role of the splicing factor. We knocked down FUS with siRNA to further study the overall transcriptional level and select alternative splicing (AS) of FUS regulation in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (H...

GSE198359 RNA-seq analysis reveals potential molecular mechanism of RAD54B on cell proliferation of inflamed human dental pulp cells
Conclusions: Gene expression profiles of normal, carious and pulpitis human dental pulp tissues were revealed. HRR components was elucidated to function in dental pulp inflammation. Among HRR DEGs, RAD54B could regulate the cell proliferation of inflamed hDPCs via P53/P21 signaling. This research not only deepens our understanding of dental pulp inflammation but also provides a new insight to clarify the underlying mechanisms.

Rutaecarpine ameliorates osteoarthritis by inhibiting PI3K/AKT/NF ‑κB and MAPK signalling transduction through integrin αVβ3
Int J Mol Med. 2023 Oct;52(4):97. doi: 10.3892/ijmm.2023.5300. Epub 2023 Sep 1.ABSTRACTOsteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic progressive articular illness which commonly affects older‑aged adults, presenting with cartilage inflammation and degradation. Rutaecarpine (RUT) has been shown to exert promising anti‑inflammatory effects; however, the efficacy of RUT in the treatment of OA is debatable. The present study investigated the potential of RUT in alleviating OA in a mouse model. Treatment with RUT inhibited the inflammatory response and extracellular matrix degradation by suppressing process regulators in interleukin (...

Extracellular Vesicles and Ischemic Cardiovascular Diseases
Adv Exp Med Biol. 2023;1418:57-68. doi: 10.1007/978-981-99-1443-2_4.ABSTRACTCharacterized by coronary artery obstruction or stenosis, ischemic cardiovascular diseases as advanced stages of coronary heart diseases commonly lead to left ventricular aneurysm, ventricular septal defect, and mitral insufficiency. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by diverse cells in the body exert roles in cell-cell interactions and intrinsic cellular regulations. With a lipid double-layer membrane and biological components such as DNA, protein, mRNA, microRNAs (miRNA), and siRNA inside, the EVs function as paracrine signaling for the patho...

Radiation Induces Bone Microenvironment Disruption by Activating the STING-TBK1 Pathway
Conclusions: The STING-P-TBK1 signaling pathway plays a crucial role in the regulation of the secretion of inflammatory cytokines and osteoclastogenesis potential in IR-induced bone microenvironment disruption. The selective STING antagonist can be used to intervene to block the STING pathway and, thereby, repair IR-induced multicellular biological damage and mitigate the imbalance between osteoclastogenesis and osteoblastgenesis.PMID:37512126 | PMC:PMC10386124 | DOI:10.3390/medicina59071316
