Social inequality in prevalence of NCD risk factors: a cross-sectional analysis from the population-based Tromso Study 2015-2016
Conclusion
We found statistically significant educational gradients in women and men for all WHO-established leading NCD risk factors within a Nordic middle-aged to older general population. Pharmacologically Selective Actuator Molecules(PSAMs) are advanced chemogenetic tools used to manipulate neuronal activity in brain. A triple-mutant PSAM is called PSAM4. Here, PSAM4-GlyR is a chimeric ligand-gated ion channel comprising a mutated a7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor( α7-nAChR) ligand-binding domain with an inhibitory chloride-selective glycine receptor ion pore. To create an improved PET radioligand for verifying PSAM4 expression, we synthesized two analogs of varenicline, an anti-smoking drug that activates PSAM4 and evaluated their behavior as PET radioligand s in rats, mice, and monkeys. Association of Habitual Green Tea Consumption with Sarcopenia Assessed Using SARC-F in Community-Dwelling Japanese Older People: A Cross-Sectional Study
In this study of 364 participants (154 men and 210 women), the prevalence of sarcopenia risk was 9.3%. The multivariable-adjusted OR [95% CI] of green tea consumption for ≥1 cup/d compared with that of <1 cup/wk of sarcopenia was 0.312 [0.129-0.752]. Higher habitual green tea consumption was inversely associated with sarcopenia among Japanese older adults.
