Application of gel based on medical image inspection in total closure resection of oral cancer patients
This study explored the application of gels based on medical image examination in the total closed resection of oral cancer patients to improve the accuracy of resection range and surgical treatment effect. The study collected medical image data of patients with oral cancer for image enhancement and determination of resection boundaries. By comparing the results of the experimental group and the control group, the application effect of gel in operation was evaluated. Through the application of medical image inspection technology, the determination of surgical resection boundary is more accurate, and the positive incisal ma...

Clinical prediction of opioid use disorder in chronic pain patients: a cohort-retrospective study with a pharmacogenetic approach
CONCLUSIONS: Functional polymorphisms related to OPRM1 variant and CYP2D6 phenotypes may predict a higher OUD risk. Established risk factors such as young age, elevated MEDD and lower incomes were identified. A predictive model is expected to be implemented in clinical setting among CNCP patients under long-term opioids use.PMID:38619184 | DOI:10.23736/S0375-9393.24.17864-9 (Source: Minerva Anestesiologica)

Histomorphometric Image Classifier of Different Grades of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Using Transfer Learning and Convolutional Neural Network
Machine learning is an emerging technology in health care field with aim of fundamentally revamping the traditional system and aiding medical practitioners. Histopathological analysis of oral cancers is crucial for pathologists to ascertain its grading. Therefore, this study attempts to grade the various stained tissue samples of oral squamous cell carcinoma patients using different deep-learning models. Phase II randomized trial comparing metronomic anthracycline-containing chemotherapy versus standard schedule in untreated HER2 negative advanced breast cancer: activity and quality of life results of the GOIM 21003 trial
CONCLUSIONS: First line metronomic chemotherapy for HER2 negative ABC had similar clinical activity and quite better tolerability than standard schedule and could be considered a further treatment option when chemotherapy is indicated.PMID:38615483 | DOI:10.1016/j.breast.2024.103725 (Source: Breast)

Single ulcers on the tongue dorsum: differential diagnosis between paracoccidioidomycosis and squamous cell carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: Although uncommon, PCM and OSCC should be considered as a diferential diagnosis hypothesis in infiltrated ulcers on the tongue dorsum. Iincisional biopsy is mandatory to confirm the diagnosis and indicate the appropriate treatment.PMID:38615259 | DOI:10.4317/medoral.26518 (Source: Medicina Oral, Patologia Oral y Cirugia Bucal)
