Effect of IL-15-Mediating IFN- γ on HTR-8/SVneo Cells and a Preeclampsia Mouse Model Induced by Lipopolysaccharides
Conclusion: IL-15 inhibition reduced cell apoptosis and increased the invasive and migratory abilities of LPS-induced HTR-8/SVneo cells, thereby alleviating the PE-like phenotype and improving pregnancy outcome.Gynecol Obstet Invest

HBxAg suppresses cell apoptosis and promotes the secretion of placental hormones in human placental trophoblasts via activation of the EGFR/Akt pathway.
In conclusion, the pEGFR protein was robustly upregulated in HBx-infected human placenta tissues and trophoblast cells. HBx reduces cell apoptosis and promotes the secretion of placental hormones in human placental trophoblast cells via activation of the EGFR/Akt pathway. Low MFN2 expression related to ageing in granulosa cells is associated with assisted reproductive technology outcome
ConclusionsLow MFN2 expression levels in granulosa cells were related to ageing, which may be involved in the clinical outcome of ART by promoting cell apoptosis and affecting mitochondrial function.

MiR-133b regulates oxidative stress injury of trophoblasts in preeclampsia by mediating the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway
AbstractPreeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-related syndrome. Aberrant placental microRNAs (miRNAs) expression might associate with PE, including miR-133b. However, its role in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia remains elusive. Therefore, this study explored the role of miR-133b in oxidative stress injury of trophoblasts in preeclampsia (PE) by mediating the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. Placental tissues were collected from PE patients to detect the expression of miR-133b and JAK2/STAT3. Then, in vitro experiments were performed on human extravillous trophoblast-derived HTR-8/SVneo cells, which were divided into Normal, hypox...

O13. Catechol-O-methyltransferase deficiency leads to hypersensitivity on the pressor response against angiotensin II
Conclusion Deficiency in COMT and 2-ME are associated with the hypersensitivity on the pressor response against AngII infusion. Similar mechanisms could be relevant to pregnant status and PE.

Fatty Acid-Binding Protein 4 in Endometrial Epithelium Is Involved in Embryonic Implantation
Conclusions: FABP4 regulates embryo implantation via altering uterine receptivity and decreased expression of FABP4 in endometrium may be linked with pregnancy loss, indicating FABP4 has biological role in the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy and subsequently is involved in pathogenesis of pregnancy loss.Cell Physiol Biochem 2017;41:501 –509

Early missed abortion is associated with villous angiogenesis via the HIF-1 α/VEGF signaling pathway
ConclusionsOur results reveal a novel role for HIF-1 α/VEGF in regulating villous angiogenesis in early pregnancy and suggest that it may be a novel biomarker for missed abortion.

Programmed Epigenetic DNA Methylation-Mediated Reduced Neuroprogenitor Cell Proliferation and Differentiation in Small-for-Gestational-Age Offspring
Publication date: Available online 31 May 2019Source: NeuroscienceAuthor(s): Mina Desai, Guang Han, Tie Li, Michael G. RossAbstractSmall-for-gestational age (SGA) human newborns have an increased risk of hyperphagia and obesity, as well as a spectrum of neurologic and neurobehavioral abnormalities. We have shown that the SGA hypothalamic (appetite regulatory site) neuroprogenitor cells (NPCs) exhibit reduced proliferation and neuronal differentiation. DNA methylation (DNA methyltransferase; DNMT1) regulates neurogenesis by maintaining NPC proliferation and suppressing premature differentiation. Once differentiation ensues,...

MicroRNA-1236-3p/translationally controlled tumor protein (TPT1) axis participates in congenital hypothyroidism progression by regulating neuronal apoptosis.
Authors: Meng T, Shen S, Li C, Liu X Abstract Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is an endocrine disease caused by congenital thyroid hormone (TH) deficiency. MicroRNAs (miRNAs or miRs) have been reported to inhibit the progression of congenital hypothyroidism. However, the expression and role of miR-1236-3p in CH remains unclear. To address this, 12 day old Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into five groups: Control; Congenital hypothyroidism (CH), miR-1236-3p inhibitor control (inhibitor control); miR-1236-3p inhibitor (inhibitor); and miR-1236-3p inhibitor + translationally-controlled tumor protein 1 (TPT1)-small int...

Differential Role of Smad2 and Smad3 in the Acquisition of an Endovascular Trophoblast-Like Phenotype and Preeclampsia
In this study, we determined Smad2 and Smad3 expression pattern in placenta and their effects on trophoblast invasion and differentiation. Total Smad2/3 levels were relatively constant across gestation while the ratio of active phosphorylated forms to their total levels varied with gestational stages, with a higher pSmad2/total Smad2 in later gestation and a higher pSmad3/total Smad3 in early gestation. Immunofluorescent staining revealed that pSmad3 was localized in nuclei of EVTs in anchoring villi. On the other hand, pSmad2 was mostly absent in this invasive EVT population. In addition, pSmad3/total Smad3, but not pSmad...
