Limb Ischemic Necrosis Secondary to Microvascular Thrombosis: A Brief Historical Review
Semin Thromb Hemost DOI: 10.1055/s-0044-1786356Ischemic limb injury can be broadly classified into arterial (absent pulses) and venous/microvascular (detectable pulses); the latter can be divided into two overlapping disorders—venous limb gangrene (VLG) and symmetrical peripheral gangrene (SPG). Both VLG and SPG feature predominant acral (distal) extremity ischemic necrosis, although in some instances, concomitant nonacral ischemia/skin necrosis occurs. Historically, for coagulopathic disorders with prominent nonacral ischemic necrosis, clinician-scientists implicated depletion of natural anticoagulants, especially invol...

Sensors, Vol. 24, Pages 2860: In Situ Test and Numerical Analysis of the Subway-Induced Vibration Influence in Historical and Cultural Reserves
This study investigates the spatial distribution characteristics of vibration in the Fayuan Temple historic and cultural reserve. It involves using a V001 magnetoelectric acceleration sensor capable of monitoring low amplitudes with a sensitivity of 0.298 V/(m/s2), a measuring range of up to 20 m/s2, and a frequency range span from 0.5 to 100 Hz for in situ testing, analyzing the law of vibration propagation in this area, evaluating the impact on buildings, and determining the vibration reduction scheme. The reserve is divided into three zones based on the vertical vibration level measured during the in situ test as follow...

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1753: The Evolving Classification of Meningiomas: Integration of Molecular Discoveries to Inform Patient Care
ski Stephen T. Magill Meningioma classification and treatment have evolved over the past eight decades. Since Bailey, Cushing, and Eisenhart’s description of meningiomas in the 1920s and 1930s, there have been continual advances in clinical stratification by histopathology, radiography and, most recently, molecular profiling, to improve prognostication and predict response to therapy. Precise and accurate classification is essential to optimizing management for patients with meningioma, which involves surveillance imaging, surgery, primary or adjuvant radiotherapy, and consideration for clinical trials....

Clinical and laboratory features of sickle cell disease s/d punjab: impact of hbf and hydroxyurea
Conclusion: SD Punjab is the third most common SCD genotype in Oman and was associated with recurrent VOC, ACS, AVN, and gall stones comparable to other SCD genotypes. Patients with> 3 VOC/year had significantly increased incidence of Stroke, AVN, and gallstones. However, HU was not associated with improved prognosis and better survival in this cohort of patients. Keywords: Sickle Cell Disease; Haemoglobin SD Punjab; vaso-occlusive crises; acute chest syndrome; Avascular Necrosis; HbF; hydroxyurea. Data-driven sustainability evaluation and manufacturing system enhancement from economic, environmental, social, and sustainability perspectives
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2024 Apr 29. doi: 10.1007/s11356-024-33463-y. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSustainable manufacturing is crucial to achieving carbon neutrality targets. However, research on the sustainability of manufacturing systems is limited, and high consumption, low efficiency, and high emissions have resulted in high resource consumption and rapid environmental degradation. Therefore, it is of great importance to establish an evaluation and improvement indicator system conducive to sustainable development. To this end, this study developed a data-driven methodology for evaluating and enhancing the sustain...

Disulfidptosis decoded: a journey through cell death mysteries, regulatory networks, disease paradigms and future directions
Biomark Res. 2024 Apr 29;12(1):45. doi: 10.1186/s40364-024-00593-x.ABSTRACTCell death is an important part of the life cycle, serving as a foundation for both the orderly development and the maintenance of physiological equilibrium within organisms. This process is fundamental, as it eliminates senescent, impaired, or aberrant cells while also promoting tissue regeneration and immunological responses. A novel paradigm of programmed cell death, known as disulfidptosis, has recently emerged in the scientific circle. Disulfidptosis is defined as the accumulation of cystine by cancer cells with high expression of the solute ca...

Personalization above anonymization? A role for considering the humanity and spirituality of the dead in anatomical education
This article argues that considering the relevance of spirituality, and wha t endures of a donor's humanity after death, would enhance contemporary anatomy education and the ethical treatment of human body donors (and derivatives). In developing this argument, we (the authors) address the historical connection between spirituality and anatomy, including the anatomical locat ions of the soul. This serves as a basis for examining the role of the mimetic—or imitative—potential of deceased human donors as representations of the living. We deliberate on the ways in which the depersonalization and anonymization of those dona...

This article describes the organization, operation, and contents of the Virtual Historical Archive of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The organization of this archive started in 2008, as part of the activities planned by the Chair II of History of Psychology, and gained the support of the Faculty of Psychology. From its beginnings to the present, several documentary sources and materials related to the history of psychology in Argentina have been incorporated. It currently contains six thematic sections and three special collections, and it is expected that in the future it will be extende...

Lamiell. The overriding purpose of this book is to introduce psychologists, other social scientists, and thoughtful laypersons to that comprehensive system of thought developed by the German philosopher and psychologist William Stern (1871–1938) under the name “critical personalism.” (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2024 APA, all rights reserved) (Source: History of Psychology)

Generational Differences in the Nursing Workforce
The nursing workforce consists of individuals from multiple generational cohorts and includes a dynamic mix of nurses who reflect the cultural and historical events that shaped their generation. As the Baby Boomer generation retires and younger generational cohorts fill their positions, Generation X and Millennials are a growing majority in the workforce, and the number of Generation Z nurses is steadily increasing. To recruit, retain, and lead teams with multigenerational members, nurse leaders need to understand the differences in attitudes toward work life and professional identity among generations and how to leverage ...
