Myopia and Rate of Peripapillary Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer Thickness in Diabetic Patients Without Retinopathy: A 2-Year Longitudinal Study
CONCLUSIONS: The diabetes group showed a faster rate of average pRNFL thickness reduction compared to healthy controls, regardless of the presence of myopia. The average pRNFL thickness decreased more rapidly when diabetes and myopia were present simultaneously than in the individual diabetes or myopia group. Factors associated with development of retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at onset and within three years after diagnosis
CONCLUSION: These findings indicate that the risk of developing diabetes retinopathy is present early on at onset and within the first three years of diabetes diagnosis. Understanding suboptimal insulin use in type 1 and 2 diabetes: a cross-sectional survey of healthcare providers who treat people with diabetes
CONCLUSIONS: Other studies have shown that PwD frequently experience suboptimal insulin dosing. Conversely, results from this study showed that HCPs believe suboptimal insulin dosing among PwD is limited in frequency. While no direct comparisons were made in this study, this apparent discrepancy could lead to difficulties in HCPs giving PwD the best advice on optimal insulin management.
