Age- and Sex-Associated Impacts of Body Mass Index on Stroke Type Risk: A 27-Year Prospective Cohort Study in a Low-Income Population in China
Conclusions Being overweight increased the risk of both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes; obesity was only associated with an increased risk of IS. Additionally, the positive association between BMI and stroke risk was only observed in participants aged <65 years and the associations differed between men and women. Hands-Free Human-Computer Interface Based on Facial Myoelectric Pattern Recognition
Conclusion A facial movement-machine interface was developed in this study in order to help users with limited hand function manipulate electronic devices. Facial movements were detected using four EMG sensors, and five movement patterns were classified using myoelectric pattern recognition algorithms. Influence of Sex on Stroke Prognosis: A Demographic, Clinical, and Molecular Analysis
Conclusion Our data suggest that women who suffer from IS present with a poorer functional outcome than men at 3-months, regardless of other preclinical and clinical factors during the acute phase.
