From ultrasound to microscopy: Actualities in thyroid investigation in cattle
This study also describes and illustrates interesting lesions of the thyroid gland in cattle. These findings are innovative in the description of the use of thyroid ultrasound in cattle, although further studies are needed to allow deeper conclusions. (Source: PLoS One)

Predicting factors and clinical outcome of biochemical incomplete response in middle eastern differentiated thyroid carcinoma
ConclusionTo achieve the fair efficacy of RAI therapy, early prediction of BIR before RAI ablation is desirable. Our finding of the clinico-pathological factors (high presTg level, LNM, delayed RAI therapy and male gender) could serve as easy and robust early predictors of BIR. In addition, DTC patients exhibiting BIR had a high risk of structural disease and hence personalized management approach would be preferable for BIR patients to ensure best clinical outcome. Genome-wide analysis of two different regions of brain reveals the molecular changes of fertility related genes in rln3a < sup > -/- < /sup > mutants in male Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)
Gen Comp Endocrinol. 2024 Apr 29:114543. doi: 10.1016/j.ygcen.2024.114543. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRelaxin3 (rln3) has been associated with various emotional and cognitive processes, including stress, anxiety, learning, memory, motivational behavior, and circadian rhythm. Notably, previous report revealed that Rln3a played an indispensable role in testicular development and male fertility in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. We found that Rln3a is expressed exclusively in the diencephalon* (Di*) of the brain. Deficiency of Rln3a resulted in a si...

Identifying Risk Indicators of Cardiovascular Disease in Fasa Cohort Study (FACS): An Application of Generalized Linear Mixed-Model Tree
CONCLUSION: Given the superior performance of the GLMM tree compared with the standard tree and the lack of significant difference with the GLMM, using this model is suggested due to its simpler interpretation and fewer assumptions. Using updated statistical models for more accurate CVD prediction can result in more precise frameworks to aid in proactive patient detection planning.PMID:38690790 | DOI:10.34172/aim.2024.35 (Source: Archives of Iranian Medicine)

Thyroid abnormalities identified on CT screening for lung cancer
CONCLUSION: ITNs are detected at LDCT however, no malignancy was found. Certain predictors for ITNs in females have been identified including breast density, which may point towards a common causal pathway.PMID:38691910 | DOI:10.1016/j.clinimag.2024.110162 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)
