Fertility preservation in males with cancer of trends, region development, and efficacy in mainland China from 16 regions Chinese sperm banks
ConclusionThis study provides the first  comprehensive national statistical census and review of fertility preservation in male cancer patients with respect to trends, prevalence, and cancer types. The development of male cancer fertility preservation in China is imbalanced and percentage of males receiving sperm cryopreservation in the adolescent and young adult cancers was low. Sixteen human sperm banks from China analyze current problems and challenges, and then prioritize steps toward the achievement of the FP strategy framework for Healthy China 2030. Comparison of endoscopic thyroidectomy via the oral vestibule approach and the areola approach for papillary thyroid carcinoma
The endoscopic thyroidectomy areola approach (ETAA) has been widely applied for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), but leaves scars and is not truly minimally invasive. The oral vestibular approach (ETOVA) lea... (Source: BMC Surgery)

Asymmetric proptosis in thyroid eye disease
ConclusionAsymmetric TED is a reasonably common occurrence in the course of TED. It is associated with higher extraocular muscle volumes, suggesting muscle enlargement as one of the underlying contributors to asymmetric proptosis. Thyroid eye disease should be considered in the differential of asymmetric orbital inflammatory disease. (Source: International Ophthalmology)

Are the elements zinc, copper, magnesium, and rubidium related to nutrition and iodine deficiency in pregnant Bulgarian women from iodine deficient region?
CONCLUSION: The high Cu levels were associated with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) and less pulse consumption during pregnancy in an iodine deficiency endemic area. SCH was found in 24% of the pregnant women in such an area while in 13% of them SCH had progressed to overt hypothyroidism.PMID:38669155 | DOI:10.21101/cejph.a7796 (Source: Central European Journal of Public Health)

A Horizontal and Longitudinal Study on the Changes of Aging Thyroid Function in Elderly Male Population
CONCLUSIONS: The thyroid function index of elderly men changes with age. In transverse analysis, the value of TSH is the highest, and FT3 is the lowest in the group ≥80 years old. There are differences between the changes in the longitudinal analysis and the results of the horizontal analysis. Therefore, the law of thyroid function changing with age in different individuals is not the same as that of the same individual with age, which should be paid more attention in medical research and clinical diagnosis and treatment.PMID:38665030 | DOI:10.24976/Discov.Med.202436183.77 (Source: Discovery Medicine)

Levothyroxine treatment in pregnant women with thyroid stimulating hormone levels ranging between 2.5 and 10 mIU/L: A propensity score matched analysis
CONCLUSION: LT-4 treatment was significantly associated with a lower risk of pregnancy loss and a higher risk of small-for-gestational-age infants in pregnant women with TSH levels of 2.5-10 mIU/L. An increased risk of preterm birth was observed in the LT-4-treated group among TPOAb-positive participants with TSH levels of 2.5-4.0 mIU/L.PMID:38666684 | DOI:10.1089/thy.2023.0662 (Source: Thyroid : official journal of the American Thyroid Association)

Macrophage-induced carboxypeptidase A4 promotes the progression of anaplastic thyroid cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that CPA4 stimulates the progression of thyroid cancer by mediating between M2 macrophages and ATC cells. CPA4 can be a new therapeutic target for the treatment of patients with ATC.PMID:38666696 | DOI:10.1089/thy.2023.0427 (Source: Thyroid : official journal of the American Thyroid Association)
