Melatonin activates the Mst1-Nrf2 signaling to alleviate cardiac hypertrophy in pulmonary arterial hypertension
This study aims to suggest one such possible treatment, through investigating the cardio-protective capabilities of the anti-oxidant, melatonin (Mel), for treating adverse RV remodeling in PAH, along with its underlying mechanisms. Arginine vasopressin induced neonatal rat cardiomyocyte hypertrophy in vitro; in vivo, PAH was induced in rats through intraperitoneal monocrotaline (MCT) injections, and Mel was administered intraperitoneally 24 h prior to MCT. PIEZO1 mechanoreceptor activation reduces adipogenesis in perivascular adipose tissue preadipocytes
In this study, we hypothesize that activation of PIEZO1 reduces adipogenesis in PVAT preadipocytes. The hypothesis was tested using pharmacological and mechanical activation of PIEZO1. Thoracic aorta PVAT (APVAT) was collected from 10-wk old male SD rats (n=15) to harvest preadipocytes that were differentiated to adipocytes in the presence of the PIEZO1 agonist Yoda1 (10 µM). Sirtuin1 inhibitor attenuates hypertension in spontaneously hypertensive rats: role of Giα proteins and nitroxidative stress
Conclusion: These results suggest that the inhibition of overexpressed Sirt1 and its target FOXO1 through decreasing the enhanced levels of Giα proteins and nitro-oxidative stress attenuates the high BP in SHR.

This study aims to explore whether TERT mediates the proliferation and migration of PASMCs and the underlying molecular mechanism. Primary PASMCs from Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were used in this experiment.
