Penile calciphylaxis
The proposed image reports the case of penile calciphylaxis. Calciphylaxis is a rare obliterative small vessel vasculopathy associated with diabetes mellitus, end-stage renal disease. Penile involvement is even rarer with only 50 cases reported, and agreement on appropriate diagnosis and management is unclear. This rarity exposes, as in our situation, to misdiagnosis, with possible iatrogeny (dermocorticoides in the case of balanitis). As the biopsy of the glans is not recommended, the clinical diagnosis is essential. (Source: Urology)

First-time versus recurrent penoscrotal extramammary Paget & #39;s disease: Clinicopathological characteristics and risk factors in 164 Chinese male patients
Conclusion: Patients with penoscrotal Paget's disease, especially those with shorter duration of symptoms, exudation of lesions, distant-stage, Paget cells infiltrating into adnexa, and HER2/neu expression, should be followed up more carefully after surgery, as they were more likely to suffer recurrence. Management of clinically node-negative groin in patients with penile cancer
Devayani Niyogi, Jarin Noronha, Mahendra Pal, Ganesh Bakshi, Gagan PrakashIndian Journal of Urology 2020 36(1):8-15Malignant penile neoplasms are commonly squamous etiology, with the inguinal nodes being the first echelon of spread. The disease spreads to the pelvic lymph nodes only after metastases to the groin nodes, and this is the most important prognostic factor in penile carcinoma. While treatment of penile carcinoma with proven metastases to the inguinal lymph nodes mandates ilioinguinal lymph node dissection, the treatment of patients with impalpable nodes is more controversial. Overtreatment leads to excessive tre...

Glans Resurfacing with Skin Graft for Penile Cancer: A Step-by-Step Video Presentation of the Technique and Review of the Literature.
Conclusions: Glans resurfacing is an emerging new appealing surgical technique that is already a recommendation in the EAU guidelines for the treatment of premalignant and superficial penile lesions. The overall satisfaction rate and recovery of the sexual function are acceptable, and it can be considered an ideal procedure to treat superficial penile cancer. Neurofibromatosis-1 and Rhabdomyosarcoma: An Unusual Recurrence
Neurofibromatosis-1 (NF-1) has a known increased risk of malignancy with rhabdomyosarcoma occurring in up to 6% of patients. Here we report on an 8-year-old male with a history of NF-1and previously treated stage 3, group III bladder/prostate embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (diagnosed at 18 months old) who presented with penile swelling concerning for priapism. Imaging and subsequent biopsy confirmed embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the penile corporal bodies. Penile rhabdomyosarcoma is exceedingly rare, with less than 15 case reports in the literature. [French ccAFU guidelines -  Update 2018-2020: Penile cancer].
CONCLUSIONS: Penile cancer needs demanding surgery to be cured, surrounded by chemotherapy in node positive patients. Lymph nodes involvement is a major prognostic factor. Thus, inguinal node assessment cannot be neglected. PMID: 31610869 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Optical biopsy of penile cancer with in vivo confocal laser endomicroscopy.
CONCLUSIONS: We report the initial feasibility of intraoperative confocal laser endomicroscopy for penile cancer optical biopsy. Pending further evaluation, confocal laser endomicroscopy could serve as an adjunct or replacement to conventional frozen section pathology for management of penile cancer. Non-coding RNAs as biomarkers in liquid biopsies with a special emphasis on extracellular vesicles in urological malignancies.
Authors: Zeuschner P, Linxweiler J, Junker K Abstract Introduction: Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are important regulators of cellular signaling in tumor-related processes. They can not only be detected in tumor tissues, but also in body fluids. ncRNAs are released into circulation as cell-free RNAs in at least two ways: bound to proteins like Ago2 or packed in extracellular vesicles (EV). Therefore, they have a great potential to serve as biomarkers in liquid biopsies. This review gives an overview of the current knowledge concerning ncRNAs and EVs as putative liquid biomarkers in urological tumor diseases. Ar...

Penile cancer with positive nodes: A case of HPV p16-positivity and its significance, implication of data from head and neck cancer
Publication date: Available online 4 September 2019Source: Urology Case ReportsAuthor(s): Cam Nguyen, Stephen Leslie, John Gross, Nicholas Dietz, Subodh M. Lele, Gopi SirineniAbstractPenile cancer is normally discovered in an early stage due to its visibility to the patient. This case report demonstrates a morbidly obese patient with a locally advanced penile cancer hidden by fatty tissue. Biopsy showed P16-positive tumor cells, which responded to concurrent chemo-radiotherapy with no evidence of disease at 24 months of follow-up. We also review the significance of p16-positive cell biology. (Source: Urology Case Reports)

Gummatous Penile Syphilis
We report a case of a 56 year old male that had been sexually abstinent for over 10 years and presenting with a 4 cm painful penile lesion with clinically palpable bilateral inguinal nodes with no prior history of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). A positron emission tomography-computed tomography scan identified the penile mass as being hypermetabolic and suspicious for penile carcinoma. Several inguinal and pelvic lymph nodes were also found to be suspicious for penile carcinoma. A penile biopsy was proposed and declined by the patient as he opted for a partial penectomy. The surgery was performed for diagnostic an...

Thrombosis of the dorsal vein of the penis as first clinical presentation of pancreatic cancer metastatic to the penis.
CONCLUSIONS: Penile localization is an extremely rare event and a standard of care has not been elaborated. Treatments are palliative and mainly aimed at pain relief and can comprise chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. Identification of venous thrombosis as an early sign of involvement could potentially offer patients an earlier diagnosis and a better treatment option.
