Autonomic Dysfunction in α-Synucleinopathies
Conclusions Dysautonomic symptoms frequently occuring in α-synucleinopathies comprise cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, urogenital and thermoregulatory disturbances. These symptoms reduce quality of life and worsen prognosis. The understanding of their pathophysiology, as well as the detection of α-synuclein deposition and autonomic dysfunction in the premotor stages of α-synucleinopathies may be key for identifying novel treatment targets and improving clinical outcomes. While causative treatment is not yet available, improvement of quality of life can be achieved by personalized symptomatic treat...

Important surgical concepts and techniques in inguinal lymph node dissection
Purpose of review Penile cancer is a rare disease with significant physical and psychosocial morbidity. It has a propensity to spread to the inguinal lymph nodes where it can progress to the pelvis and beyond. Here, we present a contemporary review on the surgical management of the lymph nodes. Recent findings Appropriate management of the lymph nodes is critical, and has been shown to impact survival for these patients. Those with lower stage disease can achieve cure with inguinal lymph node dissection (ILND), whereas a multidisciplinary approach is required in those with more extensive disease. Tertiary referral cen...

Anatomical explanations of the pathogenesis of proximal hypospadias
Conclusions: The proximal hypospadias is due presumably to avascular necrosis of the distal part poorly vascularized of the corpus spongiosum. (Source: Journal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons)

[Prostate cancer is associated with the anogenital distance, a biomarker of prenatal androgen milieu.]
CONCLUSIONS: We found that shorter measurementsof both distances (AGDAS and AGDAP) were associatedwith higher risk of PCa. A previous study reportedsimilar results, showing that longer AGDAP was associatedwith lower risk of PCa, but this relationship was notfound for AGDAS, as it was in our study with a largersample size. Recent developments in penile cancer imaging
Purpose of review This review discusses new findings in penile cancer imaging in relation to the European Association of Urology and National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. Recent findings For imaging in penile cancer patients who are candidates for organ-sparing primary treatment, ultrasound with Doppler seems to be the method of choice in addition to physical examination. The sentinel node biopsy (SNB) procedure is used to detect small nodal metastases in clinically node-negative patients. In recent years, this procedure has been enhanced by 3D imaging using single photon emission computed tomography (SPEC...

Surgical managements of pseudoepitheliomatous keratotic and micaceous balanitis: A case report
CONCLUSIONPKMB is very rare and has a characteristic appearance, which is mica-like crusts and keratotic horny mass on the glans penis. Glansectomy with STSG is a good procedure when the 5-FU cream was not available. (Source: International Journal of Surgery Case Reports)

Biomedical optical properties of color light and near-infrared fluorescence separated-merged imager
Conclusion: There are many factors that affect the imaging effect, but the imaging effect of the imager meets the requirement of vision in a wide range, and can effectively trace the SLNs in perioperative period. (Source: Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences)

Incidence of external genital lesions related to human papillomavirus among Mexican men. A cohort study.
CONCLUSIONS: In Mexico, anogenital HPV infection in men is high and can cause condyloma. Estimation of EGL magnitude and associated healthcare costs is necessary to assess the need for male anti-HPV vaccination. PMID: 30699268 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Salud Publica de Mexico)

[French ccAFU guidelines -  update 2018-2020: Penile cancer].
CONCLUSIONS: Penile cancer needs demanding surgery to be cured, surrounded by chemotherapy in node positive patients. Lymph nodes involvement is a major prognostic factor. Thus, inguinal node assessment cannot be neglected. PMID: 30361138 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Pattern and clinical management of penile cancer in Rwanda
ConclusionPenile cancer is a rare but significant disease in Rwanda. Patients present with advanced disease. After treatment of the primary tumor, modified inguinal lymphadenectomy appears to be a safe method of cure and staging for patients with clinically impalpable inguinal lymph nodes. Our early results provide a compelling insight into this rare but serious disease. (Source: African Journal of Urology)

An 80 year old hermaphroditic with Hugh Brenner Tumour: a Rare Case Report and Review
ConclusionThe morphological expression of a true hermaphroditism is an “ovotestis” which can be classified into three different categories and require a tissue biopsy for confirmation. The association of a Brenner tumour in a hermaphroditic patient makes this report a significant contribution to human sexual differentiation literature. (Source: African Journal of Urology)

The best of both worlds: a hybrid approach for optimal pre- and intraoperative identification of sentinel lymph nodes
ConclusionWith ICG-99mTc-nanocolloid, the SN biopsy procedure has become more accurate and independent of the use of blue dye. With that, the procedure has evolved to be universal for different malignancies and anatomical locations. (Source: European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging)

A Nonspecific Penile Ulcer Leading to the Diagnosis of Wagner's Granulomatosis.
Abstract The presented case concerns a 53-year-old male who had been treated for nonspecific cutaneous lesions for two months without any improvement. After developing an erosive penile ulcer he was referred to our department. Investigation for sexually transmitted diseases and Mycobacterium tuberculosis ended with negative results. A penile ulcer biopsy suggested the diagnosis of Wagner's granulomatosis (WG). Patient during this period presented with upper respiratory tract symptoms. Measuring antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (c-ANCA), confirmed the diagnosis. Immunosuppressive therapy was initiated ...
