A novel predictive model for pelvic lymph node metastasis in patients with penile cancer: A multi-institutional study
CONCLUSIONS: A novel nomogram suggests that the risk of pelvic LNM can be effectively predicted in penile carcinoma patients and may provide a useful guide for clinicians. Further external validation is needed.PMID:33622619 | DOI:10.1016/j.urolonc.2021.01.005 (Source: Urologic Oncology)

Urethral cancer managed with phallus preserving surgery: a case report
ConclusionsUrethral cancer is a rare malignancy and clinicians should bear in mind that early diagnosis of this disease can be very difficult depending on the anatomical location of the tumour. Treatment currently favours penis-preserving surgery. (Source: Journal of Medical Case Reports)

DaPeCa-8: drawing the map of lymphatic drainage in patients with invasive penile cancer - evidence from SPECT/CT and sentinel node surgery.
CONCLUSIONS: Penile cancer lymphatic drainage is primarily to sentinel in the superior and central zones of Daseler. Colleagues practicing a modified inguinal lymph node dissection as a standard in cN0 patients are encouraged to include all these zones, while the inferior zones can be omitted. This study confirms the absence of lymphatic drainage directly to the pelvic region and supports the practice of omitting pelvic nodes from sentinel node biopsy. Modified Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection in Groin-Negative Patients of Penile Cancer: Our Experience
In this study, we reviewed clinical data of all patients who underwent modified inguinal lymph node dissection as a means to diagnose micro-metastasis in inguinal lymph nodes, and analysed the outcomes. We retrospectively reviewed the hospital clinical charts of patients treated for carcinoma of the penis. Inguinal and distant metastases were assessed by physical examination, ultrasound imaging of the inguinal region, computed tomography of the abdomen and pelvis and a chest radiograph. Patients with clinically negative inguinal lymph nodes underwent modified lymph node dissection (mILND) both to diagnose and stage the dis...

Incidental Detection of Urothelial Carcinoma on 18F-Fluciclovine PET/CT
We present a case report of an 82-year-old man with history of both prostate and bladder cancer who presented for a fluciclovine study due to rising PSA levels. There was incidental detection of focal penile activity, and a subsequent urethral biopsy performed showed urothelial carcinoma, which was also seen on a subsequent MRI study. Unusual presentation of castrate-resistant prostate cancer with urethral and inguinal nodal metastasis
We describe the case of a 66-year-old patient with carcinoma prostate who presented with penile pain, 18 months after the treatment with androgen deprivation therapy. Ga-68 prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography helped in the identification of the urethral and inguinal nodal metastasis, which was confirmed histologically. We also discuss the management of this unusual clinical scenario. (Source: Indian Journal of Urology)

[French ccAFU guidelines - update 2020-2022: penile cancer].
CONCLUSIONS: - Penile cancer needs demanding surgery to be cured, surrounded by chemotherapy in node positive patients. Lymph nodes involvement is a major prognostic factor. Thus, inguinal node assessment cannot be neglected. PMID: 33349426 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Extramammary Paget & #39;s disease of the penis: A rare case report
We describe the case of a 60-year-old male who presented with an erythematous plaque on his penis, previously treated with various topical and oral drugs. Punch biopsy from the lesion revealed the diagnosis of EMPD. Early diagnosis and treatment is necessary for this rare neoplastic condition. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

15936 In lieu of penectomy: Complete resolution of invasive penile melanoma and melanoma in situ with topical imiquimod
A 69-year-old Caucasian man with no personal or family history of skin cancer presented with a 15-month history of an enlarging 2.5 × 2.3 cm ulcerated, irregularly brown pigmented lesion with a central whitish-blue nodule on the distal right penis shaft without groin adenopathy. Diagnostic biopsy demonstrated invasive melanoma. Excision demonstrated invasion to 1.76 mm, 3 mitoses per mm2, melanoma in situ (MIS) at the margins. Bilateral inguinal lymph node biopsies were negative. Given the Breslow depth and residual MIS, urology and surgical oncology recommended definitive removal via penectomy. Minimally invasive evaluation of the clinically negative inguinal node in penile cancer: Dynamic sentinel node biopsy.
Abstract The presence of lymph node metastasis is the most important prognostic factor in penile cancer (PeCa). Due to limited sensitivity of currently available imaging modalities, invasive staging approaches remain indispensable for adequate nodal staging. As an alternative to radical inguinal lymphadenectomy and with the aim to reduce morbidity, staging strategies such as modified lymphadenectomy and dynamic sentinel node biopsy (DSNB) have been introduced. Over the years, DSNB evolved into a safe and reliable staging technique when performed in high volume centers. Recent enhancements of the procedure ...
