A carbothermic hybrid synthesized using waste halogenated plastic in sub/supercritical CO < sub > 2 < /sub > and its application for lithium recovery
In this study, a novel type of carbon hybrid was tentatively synthesized from a real-world halogenated plastic as an inexpensive carbon source by sub/supercritical carbon dioxide carbonization technique. It was found that halogen-free carbon carrier was advantageously synthesized through carbonization of halogenated plastic without using catalysts due to zip depolymerization, random chain cracking and free radical reactions induced by sub/supercritical carbon dioxide technique. Exhibiting with more abundant functional groups including C-O, CO groups than pyrolytic carbon carrier, the derived carbon carrier demonstrated exc...

Later onset of Childhood Disintegrative Disorder (CDD): a case report
We present a case report of an 11-year-old male who achieved normal development for up to 7 years followed by a deterioration of previously acquired linguistic, intellectual, and social skills. Following treatment with lithium carbonate combined with risperidone, the patient experienced a reduction in irritability and aggression. CDD is a rare condition; therefore, the data presented may be useful to investigate its characteristics of the onset, to improve the understanding of the aspects of differentiation from the Autism Spectrum Disorder and finally to propose the possibility of treatment.PMID:36369699 | DOI:10.1080/135...

Is aripiprazole similar to quetiapine for treatment of bipolar depression? Results from meta-analysis of Chinese data
ConclusionAs an atypical antipsychotic, aripiprazole may be similar to quetiapine for treating bipolar depression with similar drop-out and higher remission rates when combined with lithium carbonate. However, the results of this study need to be read with caution given the poor quality of collected/analyzed literature. (Source: Frontiers in Psychiatry)

Epileptic seizure following high frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for bipolar depression: A case report
We report the following case about TMS-related seizure. The subject was a 14-year-old female with a 2-year history of bipolar disorder and was in depressive phase at this stage. The medication for the current episode was a combination of lithium carbonate (900 mg/d), aripiprazole (7.5 mg/d), and sertraline (50 mg/d), supplemented by rTMS treatment. The patient drank two cups of milk tea (500ml per cup) in succession the night before the incident. She didn't fall asleep until 4 a.m. or even later, and woke up just after seven in the morning, which means she slept about 3 h. (Source: BRAIN STIMULATION: Basic, Translati...

Dosing of Mood Stabilizers for Bipolar Disorder Patients in the Research on Asian Psychotropic Prescription Patterns Consortium Study
Conclusions Relatively high doses of MSs for BD are prevalent, but vary markedly among Asian countries, and are particularly likely among young males, ill for many years, and given high doses of antipsychotics or ECT. These characteristics allow better identification of patient profiles that can guide treatment of BD patients. (Source: Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology)
