Epileptic seizure following high frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for bipolar depression: A case report
We report the following case about TMS-related seizure. The subject was a 14-year-old female with a 2-year history of bipolar disorder and was in depressive phase at this stage. The medication for the current episode was a combination of lithium carbonate (900 mg/d), aripiprazole (7.5 mg/d), and sertraline (50 mg/d), supplemented by rTMS treatment. The patient drank two cups of milk tea (500ml per cup) in succession the night before the incident. She didn't fall asleep until 4 a.m. or even later, and woke up just after seven in the morning, which means she slept about 3 h.
