New treatment strategies for uterine sarcoma using secreted frizzled ‑related proteins
In conclusion, SFRP4 may suppress the viability and migration, and enhance the adhesion of sarcoma cells. These results suggested that SFRP4 could be considered as a novel therapeutic target for uterine sarcoma.PMID:38628655 | PMC:PMC11019650 | DOI:10.3892/etm.2024.12520 (Source: Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine)

Intracranial malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor: A case report and comprehensive literature review
CONCLUSION: MPNSTs comprise a group of highly aggressive neoplasms that rarely arise intracranially. Gross total surgical resection should be pursued when feasible.PMID:38628513 | PMC:PMC11021080 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_931_2023 (Source: Surgical Neurology International)

Understanding quality of life's challenges in sarcoma patients: A mixed-methods study
CONCLUSION: The results underscore the significance of delivering care that enhances the quality of life for sarcoma patients, addressing both their physical and psychosocial needs, and providing personalized support throughout all stages of the disease.PMID:38631125 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102585 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)

Elevated cobalt levels in metal-on-polyethylene knee megaprostheses: a prospective 1-year cohort study of 56 patients with hip and knee megaprostheses
CONCLUSION: We found elevated serum ion levels in metal-on-polyethylene knee megaprostheses in contrast to metal-on-polyethylene hip megaprostheses. Furthermore, a positive correlation between cobalt and chromium levels, and between cobalt and eGFR was identified, along with a negative correlation between cobalt and age. This study highlights the importance of monitoring systemic cobalt and chromium levels in patients with megaprostheses.PMID:38629902 | PMC:PMC11022749 | DOI:10.2340/17453674.2024.40502 (Source: Acta Orthopaedica)

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor of the femoral nerve: imaging findings and correlation with histopathology
We present a case of a 24-year-old man presenting with abdominal pain and lower-extremity weakness found to have a large MPNST originating from the left femoral nerve and describe findings on imaging and their histopathologic correlation.PMID:38628335 | PMC:PMC11018048 | DOI:10.1080/08998280.2024.2316470 (Source: Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings)
