Rare co ‐occurrence of tonsillar follicular dendritic cell sarcoma and schizophrenia: A comprehensive study
This study investigated the infrequent occurrence of tonsillar follicular dendritic cell sarcoma (FDCS) co-existing with schizophrenia, presenting a comprehensive examination of clinical, pathological, and literature aspects. A systematic literature review was conducted, focusing on articles related to “schizophrenia” and “sarcoma,” with in-depth analysis of included case reports. Clinical data, pathological findings, and patient follow-up information were collected and synthesized. The study detailed a rare case of FDCS in the tonsil concurrent with schizophrenia, providing insights into diagnosis, treatment, and ...

Comprehensive Genomic Profiling Alters Clinical Diagnoses in a Significant Fraction of Tumors Suspicious of Sarcoma
CONCLUSION: We conclude that WGTS provides an important dimension of data which aids in the classification of soft tissue and bone tumors, correcting a significant fraction of clinical diagnoses, and identifies molecular targets relevant for precision medicine. However, genetic findings need to be evaluated in their morphopathological context, just as germline findings need to be evaluated in the context of patient phenotype and family history.PMID:38573684 | DOI:10.1158/1078-0432.CCR-24-0384 (Source: Clinical Cancer Research)

Multimodality Imaging of Intimal Sarcoma Causing Both Severe Mitral Stenosis and Mitral Regurgitation
Turk Kardiyol Dern Ars. 2024 Apr;52(3):213-216. doi: 10.5543/tkda.2023.76062.ABSTRACTIntimal sarcomas (IS) are rare, malignant, rapidly progressive mesenchymal tumors that typically occur in the tunica intima of larger vessels, and they rarely involve the heart. IS are frequently misdiagnosed during the initial clinical presentation. This case report describes an uncommonly located IS, highlighting specific findings obtained through multimodality imaging.PMID:38573094 | DOI:10.5543/tkda.2023.76062 (Source: Turk Kardiyoloji Dernegi arsivi)

Secondary hematological malignancies in patients with sarcoma: A single ‑center retrospective study
Oncol Lett. 2024 Mar 14;27(5):211. doi: 10.3892/ol.2024.14344. eCollection 2024 May.ABSTRACTThe present retrospective study investigated the clinical features and prognosis of secondary hematological malignancies (SHMs) in patients with sarcoma at Korea Cancer Center Hospital (Seoul, South Korea). Patients who had been diagnosed with SHMs after having received treatment for sarcoma between January 2000 and May 2023 were enrolled. Clinical data were collected from the patients' medical records. Clinical characteristics were analyzed, including SHM incidence, type and prognosis. Of 2,953 patients with sarcoma, 18 (0.6%) were...

Impact assessment of integrated-pathy on cancer-related fatigue in cancer patients: an observational study
CONCLUSIONS: To bolster evidence-based backing for Integrated-pathy, there is a need for clearly delineated clinical indicators that are measurable and trackable over time. Clinical investigators are encouraged to incorporate Integrated-pathy into their proposed interventions and conduct analogous studies to yield sustained advantages in the long run.PMID:38576058 | DOI:10.1186/s41043-024-00537-z (Source: Journal of Health, Population, and Nutrition)
