Ovarian sarcoma a diagnostic dilemma & #8211; A case report
We report a case of an 8-year-old girl presenting with large abdominal mass and cachexia. Raised alpha-fetoprotein levels suggested germ cell tumor. Tru-cut biopsy histopathological report suggested a spindle cell tumor. The IHC staining suggested non rhabdomyosarcoma. As tumour was large and ovarian pediatric non rhabdomyosarcoma was not reported in the literature, we started on rhabdomyosarcoma neoadjuant regimen. Good response was noted for neoadjuvant chemotherapy, which was followed by complete surgical excision of the tumor and radiotherapy. At present, the overall outcome of the disease is dismal. Increased availabl...

Molecules, Vol. 28, Pages 6450: Nortopsentins as Leads from Marine Organisms for Anticancer and Anti-Inflammatory Agent Development
Daniela Carbone The marine environment is an excellent source of molecules that have a wide structural diversity and a variety of biological activities. Many marine natural products (MNPs) have been established as leads for anticancer drug discovery. Most of these compounds are alkaloids, including several chemical subclasses. In this review, we focus on the bis-indolyl alkaloid Nortopsentins and their derivatives with antiproliferative properties. Nortopsentins A–C were found to exhibit in vitro cytotoxicity against the P388 murine leukaemia cell line. Their structural manipulation provided a wide range ...

Argon-helium knife cryoablation plus programmed cell death protein 1 inhibitor in the treatment of advanced soft tissue sarcomas: there is no evidence of the synergistic effects of this combination therapy
ConclusionCryoablation combined with PD-1 inhibitors in the therapy of advanced STS is safe and can effectively shrink the cryoablation-target lesion. However, there is no evidence of the synergistic effects of this combination therapy. (Source: Frontiers in Oncology)

RAS signaling and immune cells: a sinister crosstalk in the tumor microenvironment
The rat sarcoma virus (RAS) gene is the most commonly mutated oncogene in cancer, with about 19% of cancer patients carrying RAS mutations. Studies on the interaction between RAS mutation and tumor immune micr... (Source: Journal of Translational Medicine)

Mutant HRas Signaling and Rationale for Use of Farnesyltransferase Inhibitors in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Target Oncol. 2023 Sep 4. doi: 10.1007/s11523-023-00993-3. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHead and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) are often associated with poor outcomes, due at least in part to the limited number of treatment options available for those patients who develop recurrent and/or metastatic disease (R/M HNSCC). Even with the recent validation and approval of immunotherapies in the first-line setting for these patients, the need for the development of new and alternative precision medicine strategies with survival benefit is clear. Oncogenic alterations in the HRAS (Harvey rat sarcoma virus) proto-oncogen...
