Nonclinical cardiovascular safety evaluation of romosozumab, an inhibitor of sclerostin for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fracture.
Abstract Romosozumab (EVENITY™ [romosozumab-aqqg in the US]) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits sclerostin and has been approved in several countries for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fracture. Sclerostin is expressed in bone and aortic vascular smooth muscle (AVSM). Its function in AVSM is unclear but it has been proposed to inhibit vascular calcification, atheroprogression, and inflammation. An increased incidence of positively adjudicated serious cardiovascular adverse events driven by an increase in myocardial infarction and stroke was observed in romosoz...

Development of an indicator set for the evaluation of the population-based integrated healthcare model 'Gesundes Kinzigtal' (Healthy Kinzigtal).
CONCLUSION: On the basis of a broadly based research and participatory development process, a set of indicators has been developed that enables comprehensive evaluation of the regional quality of care of cross-indication, integrated care models focusing on common diseases. In order to be able to increasingly evaluate aspects of care coordination and patient orientation, health promotion as well as nursing, palliative and emergency care in the future, it would be helpful if routine data were collected or made accessible in these areas as well. Evidence Base of Clinical Studies on Qi Gong: A Bibliometric Analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Qigong research publications have been increasing gradually. Reports on study types, participants, Qigong Intervention, and outcomes are diverse and inconsistent. There is an urgent need to develop a set of reporting standards for various interventions of Qigong. Further trials of high methodological quality with sufficient sample size and real world studies are needed to verify the effects of Qigong in health and disease management. Fragility fractures in Europe: burden, management and opportunities
ConclusionsFracture-related burden is expected to increase over the coming decades. Given the substantial treatment gap and proven cost-effectiveness of fracture prevention schemes such as fracture liaison services, urgent action is needed to ensure that all individuals at high risk of fragility fracture are appropriately assessed and treated.

Prevalence of the age-related diseases in older patients with acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura.
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that a careful comprehensive geriatric assessment of acquired TTP patients is necessary. It is important to look for other autoimmune diseases and such age-related comorbidities as osteoporosis, arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease and cerebrovascular disease. The G protein coupled receptor CCR5 in cancer.
Abstract The G coupled protein receptor CC chemokine receptor type 5 (CCR5) has the unusual characteristic in humans of being a developmentally non-essential gene that participates in several pathological processes including infection with HIV (Dean et al., 1996; Gupta et al., 2019; Samson et al., 1996), progression of stroke (Joy et al., 2019), osteoporosis (Xie et al., 2019) and the metastasis of cancer (Jiao et al., 2018; Velasco-Velazquez et al., 2012, 2014) (Reviewed in: Jiao, Nawab, et al., 2019; Jiao, Wang, & Pestell, 2019). The importance of CCR5 in HIV led to recent genetic engineering of humans to re...
