Current Development of siRNA Bioconjugates: From Research to the Clinic
In this study, it was shown that the main factor determining the nature of the biodistribution of conjugates is their lipophilicity. Conjugates of siRNA with lower lipophilicity; i.e., derivatives of retinoic acid, lithocholic acid, and docosahexanoic acid with greater efficiency than cholesterol conjugates accumulated in the kidneys, bladder, and lungs of the mouse after subcutaneous injection (Biscans et al., 2018). Comparison of effects of dsRNA and siRNA RNA interference on insulin-like androgenic gland gene (IAG) in red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii.
In this study, the effective sequence of siRNA and optimal injection dose were determined, and the effects of RNAi using dsRNA, siRNA, and long-term RNAi were investigated. Suppression of SOX18 by siRNA inhibits cell growth and invasion of breast cancer cells.
In this study, we aimed to investigate the biological role and potential molecular mechanism of SOX18 in breast cancer. We found that the mRNA and protein expression levels of SOX18 were prevalently and significantly overexpressed in human breast cancer cell lines.
