Cutaneous infections from viral sources in solid organ transplant recipients
CONCLUSIONS: The occurrence of cutaneous viral infections in SOTRs is directly associated with the duration and intensity of immunosuppressive therapy. Patients at higher risk were those taking drugs with a stronger impact on cellular immunity and/or those on an immunosuppressive regimen comprising various drugs.PMID:37085124 | DOI:10.1016/j.trim.2023.101838 (Source: Transplant Immunology)

High seroprevalence of syphilis and genital herpes in migrants in transit in Chiapas, MexicoAlta soropreval ência de sífilis e herpes genital em migrantes em trânsito por Chiapas, México
CONCLUSIONS: A high prevalence of syphilis and HSV-2 was found among the migrant population evaluated. Syphilis is confirmed as a re-emerging infection, even in women. Migrants have vulnerabilities associated with sexual behavior, so prevention, diagnosis, and treatment measures should be focused on this population group.PMID:37082541 | PMC:PMC10100594 | DOI:10.26633/RPSP.2023.71 (Source: Pan American Journal of Public Health)
