Do I have to do clinical stuff for my gap year?
I am applying next cycle and plan on doing Americorps for my gap year, in a non-clinical capacity like environmental conservation. I have lots of clinical experience from working throughout college in the ER. Would it be appear odd to an adcom if my gap year was not involved with patients at all?

Pharmacy is such a dead end career- ranting
So i quit my retail Pharmacist job 6 months after graduation. I am thinking about switching fields/ jobs to other health care field. I am willing to take pay cut in exchange of better work environment. I have been looking up jobs for past two days and I can’t find many jobs where pharmacy skills are transferable. Sorry if I am wrong. But I am regretting going to pharmacy school so much. Are there any pharmacists out there that arent practicing pharmacy? if so what positions are you working at. What do top IM programs look for in a P/F world?
In a P/F environment, what are top IM programs looking for? In particular I'm talking about the NYC ones, as that's where I'm from and want to go back to (NYP-Columbia/Cornell, Mount Sinai, NYU).
Is research heavily favored here? Can ECs matter more? Will Step 2 be the biggest factor?
I know it's all conjecture but would love to hear your thoughts. I'm pretty set on staying in NYC, but unfortunately the residency programs in NYC are a handful of top tier programs, and then a large...

Which IM programs have the best facilities?
I am curious which IM programs in the US have the newest buildings, most spacious workrooms/callrooms, nicest cafeterias, etc. While this obviously won't be the most important factor in how I rank a program, it would be nice to know what kind of environment I will be working in for the next few years of my life. I also imagine that other applicants will have similar questions, especially given the likelihood of virtual interviews. It can be hard to get a true sense of a hospital's physical...

Virtual verification
How are you guys dealing with virtual verification??? My store has collapsed. 2 of our pharmacists quit and 5 of our techs. In theory this system works but what Cvs doesn’t understand is how hard it is to get and maintain a competent staff at the pharmacy. Cvs has horrible pay for techs and has a fragmented and unorganized environment. Barely have hours so can’t train new staff so we just have a revolving door of techs that can’t do data entry or production. Cvs is like a horrible...

Community to Specialty?
Hi all! I’m considering making the switch to specialty. My current job is in the community and my staffis good but between shots, testing and all the other responsibilities it’s a bit much. More tasks added no compensation.
I know it would be an adjustment from being in such a fast-paced (at times high stress) environment. I also hear it can be boring at times but that’s the only negative I’ve heard.
Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
