Touro vs DMU vs KCU
Hi, I was admitted to Touro-CA and the deadline to make a decision is very soon. Out of Touro-CA, DMU, and KCU-Joplin, which would you recommend? I would prefer a school that has P/F, rotations nearby (I don't want to move constantly in 3rd/4th year), dedicated board prep, good student resources, and chill environment if that helps. However, I ultimately want a school that will help me become the best doctor I can be and get into residencies I am interested in (all DO friendly). (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Current students of SLU's Medical School, how is it?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I just got accepted to SLU's med school the other day and I'm really excited about it. A lot of what attracts me to the school is that I've heard that the student environment is overall very collaborative and that the administration is really supportive of their students. The main thing I really want to avoid is a toxic and overly competitive environment (although I'm sure all med schools will have at least some degree of competition)... What are careers like going from academic heme/onc to pharma?
I'm an MD/PhD student at an upper mid-tier school. COVID ran a bulldozer through my PhD and it's looking like I'll graduate with 6-7 basic science papers to my name, 3-4 first author, nothing in super high impact journals. My chances of being a PI at a high-tier institution without extra post-doc time look slim. My advisors are pushing me towards professorship at a lower- or mid-tier institution, but these environments are often poorly funded and my capacity to do impactful work there feels... ITE and Step scores
Now that the match is over, what is the consensus on CA1 ITE and step scores needed to be competitive in this environment? I honestly cannot find any data on this other than charting outcomes but that doesn’t address ITE. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PhD advising for OT - should I pursue a Psych PhD or something else?
Hi, it's been FOREVER since I posted on this message board... missed y'all. 🥰 I completed my master's in occupational therapy, have been in practice for a few years, and now I am seriously thinking about PhD studies. I enjoy research and the university environment, and I can envision myself as a professor in a health sciences program. Alternatively, I'd be interested in a leadership role at a hospital or non-profit, perhaps coordinating research or being involved in clinical education --... Did I make mistake picking anesthesia?
Hi, I’m a CA1 at large academic hospital and quite frankly fairly unhappy with my residency experience and anesthesia in general. I’m writing to see if my feelings are typical or if I need to consider other options. My end game is likely not practicing general anesthesia but rather chronic pain (hospital employed) or hospital administration. I am not overly interested in the physiology of anesthesia and the leadership from my PD and chair is non-existent. IThe work environment is such that I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Rural medical schools?
Hello. I am posting this in the MD section but this question is for ALL medical schools. Are there any in a more rural area? I know cities provide amazing resources and opportunities, but I am from a city, currently living in a more rural community and love it. I plan to practice medicine in a rural area if I get to become a physician, and I would just prefer a rural learning environment (although I don't care that much about it, I am just wondering). I tried looking it up but didn't really... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Thoughts on current employment?
Hi all - Looking for some outside perspective. I'm an oncologist in a private practice in NJ. I'm about 5 years out of fellowship and I joined my current group after staying on for a couple of years post-training in academia. I decided that the academic environment just wasn't for me, and I'd been seeking greater control and potentially ownership in a large and growing practice. My base salary after nearly 3 years here is $300k although my real compensation is $72/wRVU, and I'm dished out... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I delete my anti china facebook posts before med school (there aren't any covid conspiracy theories though)
I have a bunch of anti ccp posts on my facebook, including from a channel connected to falun gong a religious group which has been known to be tied to the right wing of the political spectrum and even promote covid conspiracies, but none of my posts are connected to covid conspiracies. I have posts like one connected to the covid whistleblower (from another channel, not the conspiracy theory one), environmentalist issues, hollywood censorship, human rights etc. should I delete these?
