Inspired by personal growth thread and a conversation last night with doc who posed an interesting question "Given today's [practice environment], do you think anyone is going to be able to do 20-30 years of this job?"

Psychiatry vs Pathology
Hi everybody,
I know that these are disparate specialities, but I am considering pathology and psychiatry. I think I would enjoy the work environment of pathology: a calm environment with intellectually stimulating work. However, I know that pathology does not have as much flexibility as psychiatry, especially concerning private work. Buffalo (OOS) vs UNLV (OOS)
Both schools offer IS tuition after 1 year
Buffalo: around 330k total?
Pros:
- 4-5 hours drive from home
- Good clinical education
Cons:
- Weather
UNLV: around 300k total?
Pros:
- Good weather (aside from summer lol)
- More lively city (I don't party though)
- Good clinical education
Cons:
- Far from family and friends

Cost of tuition is roughly the same, so cheapest school is not a factor here. I also plan on applying for the NHSC scholarship.

Couldn’t visit during interview, so not sure on how the environment truly feels
