Duet Scores
Hi, I just want to make sure that Duet scores are only sent to medical schools that require them. Can we choose to which schools we send the scores to? Or do we have to send scores to all schools on our Casper distribution list? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ochem1 + LifeSci over the Summer (?)
Hello, I’m a new member, and I‘m a student from South Korea. In Korea, the spring semester is from March to June, and the fall semester is from September to December. I am currently a sophomore in university planning to take organic chemistry 1 + introductory life science this summer from June 28 to Aug 4. I do have a strong biology background, so I think that life science will be okay, but for organic chemistry 1, I have a small background (basic nomenclature, alkanes, stereochemistry... How to not burn this bridge?
Hello everyone, I need some advice. I just got hired by Walmart Neighborhood pharmacy as a full time floaters and pretty happy with it for 3 months now( I were from Walgreens ). I am also an PRN Rph for a local hospital. Then I also asked Walmart if they will hire my wife and they did and she got the ft staff position at a busy Walmart store so I asked the DM if we can swab . My wife would get my floating position and I will be staffing. The DM said ok. So far we will fill our role pretty... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Bureau of Labor Statistics Data for Physicians and Surgeons
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 3% growth for physicians and surgeons during the years 2020 to 2030. In comparison, the BLS projects 45% job growth for nurse practitioners and 31% job growth for physician assistants. If these projections are accurate, does this mean that pursuing a career as a physician is a risky venture in terms of finding a job and that becoming a nurse practitioner, for example, is now the safer route to find employment? And does this mean that many physicians... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Wayne State vs. WesternU COMP
Just got off the waitlist at Wayne State and my biggest question right now is am I able to accept their offer but still hold my spot at WesternU? Those are my top 2 contenders right now. I am PTE’d at Cal Northstate (lol it was my only MD option prior to today), so I obviously would pick Wayne over that, but I’m not entirely set on Wayne over Western. But let’s get into it: WesternU COMP: Pros: I live one hour away. All my family is one hour away, and my SO is 20... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Void My MCAT And Take in July?
In desperate need of advice. My MCAT is tomorrow and it's too late to cancel. I have not been able to study how I have wanted due to personal/family issues. I am not confident I will score better than 495-500. I still want to apply this cycle. Would it be better to take the exam tomorrow and still score even if I don't feel confident (this is my first MCAT)? I am planning on taking it on July 29th as I think I can get a 512-515 between now and then. Should I void tomorrow and just take it in... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

OMFS Residency
I just finished my D1 today. Gpa is not the greatest it’s a flat 3.5. I know second year is hard but let’s say I finish second year as well with 3.5 putting my overall at 3.5. Most students finish third and fourth year of dental school with 4.0 because it is just clinical. Does D3 and D4 year count when you’re trying to do OMFS residency or not really since probably most residency programs knows that most students will get 4.0 their last two years ? Help needed for selecting between two gap year positions
Hey SDN fam I hope you all are well. I'm a pre-med graduating in May and I got offered two positions for my gap year. One is in a research technician position at a well know medical school in NYC doing very cool research and the other is a medical assistant job at a clinic in my hometown Maryland. I need help deciding between these options. The NY one is a 2 year position and very cool research. The MD one is a patient care experience close to home and no specific... Pain from a lifestyle (pay, hours, etc.) stand point
Strictly from a lifestlye (hours, pay, call burden, vacation time), would current fellows/attendings (those with more knowledge than a lowly CA-1) recommend pursuing a pain fellowship strictly for the lifestyle benefits. Aside from lifestyle I do enjoy pain interventions, but I also like general a lot. Thanks for input (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How do people get so much research?
New M3 here, getting excited being in the clinic, but a little self conscious about something my classmates are talking allllll about: Research I came into Medical School with a publication + poster presentation, and looks like I will finish off preclinical with another publication and 2 more poster presentations (unless you count undergrad/medical school summer program presentations). I am so confused as to how I read about people applying for residency with 20 publications and 20 poster... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

University of Nebraska Medical Center VS Wayne State
UNMC Pros Big scholarship and cheap rent so won’t need to take out loans Ranked higher but I feel like they’re both mid tier so I’m not sure if it matters Sweetest people ever True P/F Name recognition Very easy to get involved in research over long summers Cons This one has nothing to really do with the school itself but Its in Omaha so there’s not much there, also not a lot of flights go to Omaha direct so it would be hard for me to fly home for... Medical School vs. JP Morgan Chase
Hello! I am in need of some serious help making this life decision. I have always been intrigued with medicine. I love it for the complexities and problem-solving that go with it. I was a chemistry major (love it!) at a HYP school. I loved chemistry for the same reason I think I would love medicine: curiosity, problem-solving, on my feet/not sitting at a cubicle. However, summer after my junior year, I completed an internship at JP Morgan Chase in NYC doing corporate finance. The internship... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What rankings should I used to consider reputation aspect of 2 DO schools I'm accepted at?
I would use USNEWS but one school (Touro Nevada) isn't ranked while the other school is Western CA. Also, what should I look for in their residency rank list? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
