Veterans - Were any of you reapplicants?
Hey everyone, Some context: I'm a U.S. Army veteran planning to apply in May with mediocre sats (3.3cGPA,3.7sGPA) FL average ~510 so far. I was a medic, so I have a ton of valuable experiences to write about. I've heard plenty of stories about how being a veteran really adds to your application. In fact, every veteran I've spoken to was accepted their first cycle. Are there any veterans out there that applied to>10 schools and were rejected by all of them? If so, what do you think went wrong? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Older applicant. GF is a prof at a medical school. She says she doesn't think I need to inform school b/c she's in PhD program and not MD program.
We're similar in age, I'm an older nontrad applicant. I'd like to go to that school. We live together, alot of my stuff will probably just remain at her place in all situations. Might get married in the next few years, not sure. 1. Should I apply to the school? 2. Should I apply to the school and inform them while applying? 3. Should I apply to the school and only inform them if I am accepted? 4. Should I apply to the school, and if I'm accepted, should I not mention it? 5. If I'm... Pharmacy Fellowship - Multiple Functional Areas and PPS Process
Hello everyone! Deadline for pharmacy fellowships are finally here and some deadlines are nearing. With that being said, I am in the process of applying to a few programs but had a few questions. Is it looked down upon if I applied for multiple functional areas within a company/program? For example, I am interested in medical affairs and clinical development. Also, how common is it for applicants to apply to both residency and fellowships? For example, my number 1 goal is fellowships but... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MD/MS vs MD/MBA
Current M2 at a med school with a top 5 business school. Interested in orthopedics. Would like to be involved in device development one day and keep the door open to working with industry. I'm thinking about doing a dual degree for a few reasons. I didn't take a gap year after undergrad, so I'm already quite young, and the extra year would just be another way to "catch up" with the age of everyone else. Hi! Has anyone used the iPrepDental course in either 2020 or 2021 for the DAT? It says 90% of their students score within the top 10% of test-takers. Is this true? Any notes on experience with the course is also much appreciated. Thank you in advance. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Joined a new group and reading notes of patients referred to me. I am new out of residency, so perhaps my expectations are too high. Typically nothing is written in the subjective except a few sentences why patient "meets" criteria for a diagnosis. Minimal history on past medications/psych history. No medical history. No assessment ever explaining why they think the patient has the diagnoses they attributed to them. Plan often time will include one quick blurb about what they intend to do... I was just curious on how others are dosing clozapine. It has a pretty wide ranging half life, smoking can affect it, all kinds of other variables, etc. I know prescription recommendations are to dose bid, but I almost never do this. I hear this throw around all the time that taking the pre-med pre-reqs is all that matters and your major itself isn't taken into consideration.
