Early Decision (Rosalind Franklin)
Hi, So I am getting nervous because I have not heard back from Rosalind Franklin for an interview (or no interview). The Early Decision application deadline was August 15th and I submitted my application early and had everything on verified on August 8th. (I've paid the fee and everything). The last email I received (on August 8th) said: "In an effort to keep you informed throughout the admission process, your file has been initially reviewed and is still under continued consideration... Seeking Advice
Hi everyone, I've been a casual observer for a while. However I am stuck in a dilemma and so I made this account to seek for advice. Tomorrow marks the first day of my senior year as an undergrad. My target is to apply to the College of Optometry of the University of Houston for this current cycle. I have not started the application process, but I am planning to take the OAT in either late September or October. The dilemma I'm facing is that I goofed off during the summer and have barely... Hi Gang, Last time I posted, I was a MS4 eager to become an anesthesiologist. Now I'm posting as a 2nd year attending at a southeast academic institution. Canadian Ortho Programs
Hi. I'm a Canadian student studying at an american dental school right now. I'm interested in pursuing an ortho residency and I've looked into some american programs but am curious about Canadian ones. I'd love to go back home, although I am open to practicing both in the US and Canada. I heard from an upperclassman that Canadian specialty programs have a low rate of accepting fresh graduates. Can anyone attest to this? I would appreciate any opinions. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

would a surgeon be able to pay off a 2 million dollar debt fast? Now, the surgeon got the loan, and builds the house, would the surgeon be able to pay off his debt quick? Let say within under 10 years. Would that possible? Step 2 CS raised cutoff
Sorry if this was discussed elsewhere (I attempted a search!). I knew people were talking about a raised cutoff but it looks like they officially announced on Aug 4th that they plan to increase the minimum score cutoff in all three subsections to a level that will potentially fail 3% more US students and 8% more international. Effective for test takers after Sept 10th. This just seems cruel and unusual. And also totally unnecessary. There doesn't seem to be any transparency for their... CRRT and HD privileges for intensivist?
Has anyone heard of any intensivist (other than renal-intensivist) obtaining privileges in prescribing CRRT and HD? I can imagine from a nephrologist perspective and political perspective this is a big no-no in terms of revenue stream and outpatient continuity. Plus the intensivist is already too busy running around doing other things to care. But just wondering out loud. I mean I hear in Europe intensivists do their own renal replacement therapy. Found a couple threads but they were all older and not DO-specific. I'm currently a senior studying biochem/molecular bio and planning on taking a gap year.
