How long is your average deployment in dentistry?
I'm currently a pre-dental student but guaranteed to join some branch of the military after school. I've tried searching other forums but they seem outdated, so I apologize beforehand if I've repeated a question. I would like to join a branch but I don't see myself being able to compete for the HPSP scholarship simply because my first year was a joke. For that reason I've decided I'd like to join after school but I have concerns as to joining as active duty or reserves. My only concerns... How long is your average deployment in dentistry? Nursing School Vs Med School, no comparison.
As someone who is about to complete medical school, and who went through nursing school for a BSN, the knowledge gap between the two is exponential. In light of recent arguments made by militant nurses who argue that the required nursing courses to complete an associates degree or BSN is just as good as medical school. First you take an A&P, 101 course on microbiology, a introductory 12 week course in "orgo/gen chem, Biochem" all combined superficially in 12 weeks, 12 week course in... Retaking all general science courses to study for MCAT
What do you guys think about retaking science classes during the summer as kind of a review for the MCAT. I got an A or A- in all my basic science courses, and I'll take it with a different course code. For example, I took honors chemistry, which was Chem 2100. Now, I plan on taking regular general chemistry, which is Chem 2000. This will also help shield against potential drops in GPA from upper level science courses. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Why do people recommend PA to medical students and premeds?
Why do people recommend physicians assistant to premeds who don't get into medical school or to medical students who fail out of medical school? Isn't PA school just as hard to get accepted into, and it's PA just as difficult as medical school?
