(Partial) Gap Year Advice Needed!
I am a southern California resident and I graduated from UC Berkeley this May with a degree in biology and used the summer (June-Sept) to only study as I was taking TPR course. I took the MCAT last week, which I voided. I plan to study more and take it again in January 2018. As I prepare for the exam, I want to either work part-time or volunteer to boost my application. Not wanting to "get involved"
I am an M1 and feel like I'm doing something wrong. It seems as if all my classmates want to be "involved." They sign up to be class liaisons or are attending various events like public health presentations or interest group meetings for things like nutrition in medicine. Which UK school consider ECs?
Can someone tell me which graduate entry medical program in the UK considers ECs and one's academic CV? I am a Canadian currently studying in a Canadian university wanting to apply to UK med schools. I have e-mailed some schools and it seems that all of them only consider school/university grades and public exams (UKCAT, BMAT etc) results. I feel that EC (research, awards, work, volunteering etc) is my strength and want to use it to my advantage. Thanks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Advice on how to improve my chances
I have been unsuccessful in getting accepted to a dental school for 3 cycles now. I am planning to rewrite the DAT this december as the previous one i took was in 2014. My stats are gpa: 3.32, previous DAT: 23, and have around 175h of dental shadowing from 2 general dentists, that I have accumulated over the last 3 years. Psych residency hours?
How difficult is psych residency? I always see mention of how derm residency is like 40-50 hours a week and super cush compared to like most other residencies like IM and surg who consistently put in 70+ hours weekly. What is psych like? Is it stressful? Do you deal with very sick patients? Are you putting in 70+ hours a week or is it more like derm where you're doing 40-50hrs per week during residency? Attending multiple schools at the same time
I have a weird situation. One of the things that adcoms look at is the course load that you took each semester. For most students, this is a trivial thing to determine, because it is listed for that semester under the school that they attended. However, the AMCAS primary does not list coursework by semester. So I feel kind of embarrassed about this but I feel like I've been having a hard time making friends in med school compared to other people.
