Zucker (Hofstra) Vs Einstein; Free at Both
Hi everyone, I'm currently trying to decide between Hofstra and Einstein and would really appreciate your feedback. 1.For a little bit of context, Tuition is covered at both schools via scholarships, so costs would be relatively the same. 2.I currently live on Long Island and will not be moving from my current residence. 3. I'm currently interested in Emergency Medicine/ General Surgery, but obviously, these interests might change in school. 4. Hofstra's additional financial aid to cover... DREXEL vs. EVMS vs. VCU
I’m very indecisive so plz help <3 some background: I am from Northern Virginia. I am unsure about specialty, but interested in Pediatric Oncology, OB/GYN, or Gen Surgery. I am waitlisted at VCU and EVMS (top tier), but in the case I get off should I choose the cheaper options?… DREXEL: Pros: major city- more fun throughout medical school. I am familiar with Philly, so adjusting would be easy My best friends are all in New Jersey or NYC, so it would be a good support... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

School List Critique - CA resident, ORM, 3.4 cGPA, 3.32 sGPA, Reinvention/Strong Upward Trend, 522 MCAT,
PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS MESSAGE Hi everyone, I want to start by saying I am mostly looking for school list critiques/modifications. I've found that it isn't very helpful for me to get too caught up in my "odds" of getting in. With that said, I know that being realistic with my school list is important and I am appreciative of any constructive feedback. I heavily favor an MD school, so I will not be applying to DO schools this round. If I don't get in this cycle I will reapply next year... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Are 3 LORs from OMFS necessary for a complete application?
My school only has 1 OMFS on staff. I have him along with another OMFS that will for sure write me decent letters. I have one more surgeon that might write me an okay letter but I wouldn’t be surprised if he said no when I go to ask. Worst case scenario will programs still take me seriously with only 2 OMFS letters and my research mentor that knows me well? My app is competitive otherwise. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Need to remediate -- cannot participate in extracurriculars
So I messed up and failed a course in semester 1 but I am expected to remediate over the summer and will not be allowed to participate in club elections, research, or any ECs for that matter until my remediation is complete. I had terrible study strategies in semester 1 but I've developed since then and even aced a couple of exams but I'm far from being anything phenomenal. Pretty much I tried saving my semester 1-course grade in the end but failed by a measly 4 points. What does this mean... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Inflation Reduction Act Impact on Oncology Reimbursement
Hello, first-time poster on this forum, I'm creating this thread to ask a question about the impact of the recently passed (2022) Inflation Reduction Act on heme/onc compensation. Some caveats, I know predicting future compensation is always difficult and not a reason to choose/not choose a sub-specialty, but I do want to be as informed as possible as I consider a future career path. From what I understand, much of the compensation in Heme/Onc that accounts for the high salary for a... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Undecided MS3 help me choose a specialty please
Honestly I am so lost at this point. I jump all over the place and I am perfectly aware that my interests seem to be totally unrelated polar opposites but I’m really panicking and hoping maybe some advice/input here could help Was planning for ortho because I thought I loved MSK and surgery. Did not enjoy my surgery clerkship (3 weeks Peds and 3 weeks vascular). Did not enjoy my ortho 2 week elective. Been back to the drawing board very late in 3 year. Lifestyle is really... Will I be invited to an interview without all my transcripts submitted?
I am thinking of taking an art class and 2 more classes to boost my gpa one last time. But I don’t want it to hinder my chances of getting a medical school interview. I’m not sure if medical schools require that they receive all my transcripts before they invite me for an interview? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
