ASU Online - Pre-Requisites as a Post Grad?
Hi there, I am 25, recently graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration - Management last year and had a really tough time finding work in my city. My city has a really strong economy with lots of wealth and open positions available but I still struggled to find work that paid well. I had previous sales experience and customer service experience and it seems like a trap I'll never get out of. I took a job that pays about $40k per year and I feel unfulfilled. I am strongly... Will they have to pay pharmacists more now that they prescribe?
Hey guys....so at my pharmacy, birth control can officially be prescribed by a pharmacist. We were also told that, eventually, pharmacists will be able to clinically diagnose (through testing/culturing and what not) certain acute illnesses such as strep throat, pink eye....and would be able to prescribe antibiotics. Since they will soon have this role of being, not only a pharmacist, but an acute medical doctor, do you think that salary will increase??? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Studying in bed?
Help me y’all. I study in bed all the time. Like for 10 plus hrs most times. I like it, it’s comfortable. I also like studying on big couches and chairs but I have none at home. My mom basically got pissed at me today saying all I do is stay in bed and pretty much making me feel like a lazy slob. Now I’m rethinking my studying habits. So my question is should I say screw it and do me and lay in bed with my books, or should I make an effort to study more outside my bed. This seems petty I... Studying in bed? Dismissed from 1st year residency. What to do for best outcome?
Please help, as I'm desperate and have no clue what to do and I'm afraid of giving too much detail in case somebody identifies me. The short story is that I am getting dismissed in my first year from my program already. I'm unable to continue due to my performance which I acknowledge that I'm not as good as the other residents and that is an issue I need to rectify. I was previously on probation, so it isn't entirely surprising, but it still hurts. It probably hurts more that I tried so... Dismissed from 1st year residency. What to do for best outcome? Need advice..too many mistakes
So I'm somewhat of a new grad. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety for a very long time. Started working as a retail pharmacist recently and I have been having a hard HARD time. The workload is not so much as a problem as my loss of concentration. I love being busy, but lately business has turned to chaos every time I work. Every time I get distracted because of an insurance issue, phone call or customer question (mostly complaints at this point about stuff not being ready)... will having myotonic dystrophy affect my aspirations to be a dentist
Myotonic dystrophy runs in my family. My father has it and one of my 2 brothers has it. I am interested in pursuing dentistry however i worry that i may develop the disease (which would obviously affect my ability to work as a dentist). What do you guys think i should do? getting a genetic test may affect my insurance, and even if it said i did carry the gene, there is a chance it wouldn't be too severe (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Institutional Action - How bad is mine?
I am numb. Just came back from meeting with the Dean. I was put on probation for embellishing my lab hours. Basically, I need to complete 100 hours of research for my major. I work with a professor in my department, and we have a sign-in/sign-out sheet in a binder. I put that I worked 5 hours last Thursday, but I was actually there for ~2-3 hours. I was wondering if anyone is applying to the Spring Cohort (Jan 2018) at Huntington University. I went and interviewed there and they are really pushing it because I am graduating this December. I just found out I have to help teach a lab portion of a course for graduate students at one of the ivy med schools where I work full time in a lab. Since it's a grad class it's about developmental bio and I have to help teach the lab portion about a specific technique- qPCR along with physically doing it, the background, analyses etc For schools that encourage updates does this mean anything? Securing Epidural Catheters
Where I did residency I would secure the epidural catheter using two epidural stat locks; one at the site of insertion, and another on the shoulder. I would then cover the catheter with 4 tegaderms. Where I am currently completing my OB anesthesia fellowship, the anesthesia team use the little sponge that comes in kit, which in my opinion does a pretty crappy job at securing the catheter at the insertion site, followed by one tegaderm and then tons of silk tape.
