Having good stats a crutch for low tier schools?
I was talking to my pre-med adviser and she made a claim that a low tier school, may not interview someone because their stats are high and they believe they will not attend that school anyways (basically don't want to waste their time). Is this actually a thing? I can't imagine a school simply not interviewing their top applicants, and maybe having a larger wait list? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Scribe-Doctor Relationship
Hey Everyone, I am currently a pre-med(and a scribe) and will be applying next cycle. I have faced sort of an obstacle at work... The physician I work the most with asked me out. I am 22 and he is 30...... Normally this would totally gross me out, however, I am terrified that I won't be able to get a LOR that I've been needing for a while now. It's not like I've done anything to lead him on; I wear baggy scrubs, my hair in a bun, little-no makeup, and I rarely ever talk about my personal... What is my next move?
I was wondering if any of you could help me with the situation I am currently in. I took the MCAT in July and scored a 499. Knowing that with a 3.01 GPA and a 499 MCAT, my chances of gaining admittance into many medical schools is low I am planning on applying to an SMP and retaking the MCAT next summer. I was wondering if anyone could guide me in the proper direction or share a similar situation that they have gone through. Thank you guys!!! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Has anyone thought of the long term financial benefits of marrying another doctor?
Just a thought, But my whole life Ive always dated people who intended to stay in the lower income range (below 40 k) A whole foods cashier, an Ulta make up specialist, and a hippie. So when ever I thought future I always thought everything I wanted would be purchased pretty much on my own income. If I wanted a 2 million dollar home I would need to earn above 300 k and pick a higher paying specialty. I was set up on a blind date this weekend with a girl whos also med student. No I didnt... Maternity leave during residency
A good handful of my M4 peers have been discussing their plans to marry this year then have children after during residency. Which made me curious....since residency is generally very organized with fixed # of residents and set shifts - if 1 of 10 residents goes on maternity leave for a few months, does that mean the other 9 residents have to take an 11% increase in their workload/shifts? And since we're paid by annual stipend, is that factored into our pay? Do we get paid commensurately... Maternity leave during residency (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I am really interested in this field of study.
