WAMC 3.2 GPA - 514 MCAT - Reinventor/Upward trend
Hey guys! I just got my MCAT score back today and am getting ready to apply this cycle so I was hoping I could get some insight into my chances as well as help with my school list. I'm 25 so a bit of a non-trad (and unfortunately still recovering from the actions of my 18/19 year old self haha). Long story short, I had multiple transfers and started out as an idiot, but finished strong the last 3 years (3.7 GPA in 90 credit hours, mainly upper-level sciences for biochem major). I'm feeling a bit discouraged about my chances of acceptance after receiving my MCAT score today, but I also don't think an MCAT retake would help (I don't think I could realistically do any better after 7 practice FLs). LOR from DO if applying to MD schools
Hi all! I know that if someone is applying to DO schools it is recommended that they get a letter of rec from a DO. How do you deal with patient abuse
Hey all As the title states - how do you all deal with this? I am pretty darn sick of patients being abusive, and I feel many attendings are very blah about this. I have a 0 tolerance policy towards this, and when I"m an attending in a few months I will immediately terminate the visit when a patient is being abusive. Mental Illness
Hi. I am a Junior, about to take the MCAT and apply to medical school this summer. I have a really personal thing I wanted to get opinions on from other people. I have struggled with low self-esteem for a long time, since high school or maybe even middle school. In the past year and a half or so, something happened that is completely my own fault. I have no one to blame but myself for this and my inability to change myself. The point is, I met someone really special to me, and she changed... Mental Illness (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Hospitalist job offer — curious on thoughts
I am considering a traditional 7on/7off hospitalist IM job in a semi rural town in the Southeast. The compensation is 280/yr + quality and rvu-based bonus that for the average provider is expected to be around 315-325 total. Shifts are 7-7, 14-16 pt per day, nothing particularly non traditional about the contract. Curious as to how this stacks up w others?
