Process of becoming a general pediatrician
I have been accepted to an MD school and am excited but also am suddenly a bit overwhelmed. For many years I have wanted to become a general pediatrician and now that the dream is turning to reality, I am feeling a bit of doubt. I think I am just nervous about the path ahead and before I truly commit myself to this I want to know exactly what I'm getting into. Can someone please clearly lay out the process of becoming a general pediatrician and also comment a bit on how the process is... Malpractice Insurance and Tail Coverage
Since more and more people around here are switching jobs, I thought this thread might be helpful. I know tail coverage is dependent on the state you practice in as well as how long you have been out. Does anyone have any experience with stand alone tail coverage? From what I have read they can be cheaper than getting from current provider, but carry other legal risks? I am currently awaiting a quote from my carrier.....more than a little nervous. Necessary to have a "passion" for medicine?
Sorry for the long post. I've been lurking on this forum for a few months, but this is my first time posting. People often say that medicine isn't something to go into if you're not totally passionate about it. I do find many aspects of medicine interesting, but it seems not nearly as much as most of the people who post here or on the premed subreddit. Being honest, medicine's primary appeal for me is the long term economic and financial stability that few other careers can match. However,... Necessary to have a "passion" for medicine? What should I do with my gap year money
I'm in a gap year and work full time and make about $1800 a month. I have $30,000 in undergrad loans and the minimum payment is around $300 a month. I am beginning medical school the coming year and will be living at home so I thankfully do not have to worry about bills/housing/food costs. Just wondering if any of you have seen Genetics as a prerequisite for MD schools? I did some research and it looks like it depends on the school so would it be a good idea to take it anyway? Hi all, our winter break is almost over and the consensus is that now would be a great time to begin prepping for boards. I currently don't use any study materials outside of sketchymicro & the class lectures/labs, and my grades are pretty consistent with the class average. Major reinvention story - what should I do now?
Hi everyone! Long time lurker but first time poster. I'll do my best to make it brief. I started school at my local community college in 2004 and did fairly well.
