Establishment of pregnancy-specific lipid reference intervals in pregnant women in a single-centre and assessment of the predictive value of early lipids for gestational diabetes mellitus: a prospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: This study established pregnancy-specific lipid RI for pregnant women in a single centre in the Beijing area of China. Pregnant women with TG ≥ 2.375 mmol/L in the first trimester were at significantly increased risk for GDM.PMID:38646991 | DOI:10.5603/ep.98554 (Source: Endokrynologia Polska)

Phenomewide Association Study of Health Outcomes Associated With the Genetic Correlates of 25 Hydroxyvitamin D Concentration and Vitamin D Binding Protein Concentration
We examined the predictive properties of PGS25OHD, and two scores related to DBP concentration with respect to 1322 health-related phenotypes and 315 laboratory-measured phenotypes from electronic health records. In those with European ancestry: (a) the PGS25OHD and PGSDBP scores, and individual SNPs rs4588 and rs7041 were associated with both 25OHD concentration and 1,25 dihydroxyvitamin D concentrations; (b) higher PGS25OHD was associated with decreased concentrations of triglycerides and cholesterol, and reduced risks of vitamin D deficiency, disorders of lipid metabolism, and diabetes. In general, the findings for the ...

A retrospective study on the efficacy of Roxadustat in peritoneal dialysis patients with erythropoietin hyporesponsiveness
CONCLUSIONS: For PD patients with erythropoietin hyporesponsiveness, roxadustat can significantly improve renal anemia. The efficacy of roxadustat in improving renal anemia was not affected by baseline levels of hs-CRP0 and iPTH.PMID:38649158 | DOI:10.3904/kjim.2023.520 (Source: The Korean Journal of Internal Medicine)

The effects of jujube (Ziziphus jujube) on metabolic and mental health outcomes in patients with metabolic syndrome: A randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Jujube consumption only had beneficial effects on WC, TG, and HDL-C in subjects with MetS. However, the current study has methodological weaknesses in blinding and herb purity/potency testing, which should be addressed in future studies.TRIAL REGISTRATION: Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (registration number: IRCT20180201038585N10; registration date: 11 April 2021), https://www.irct.ir/trial/55287.PMID:38648942 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctim.2024.103041 (Source: Complementary Therapies in Medicine)
