Phenomewide Association Study of Health Outcomes Associated With the Genetic Correlates of 25 Hydroxyvitamin D Concentration and Vitamin D Binding Protein Concentration
We examined the predictive properties of PGS25OHD, and two scores related to DBP concentration with respect to 1322 health-related phenotypes and 315 laboratory-measured phenotypes from electronic health records. In those with European ancestry: (a) the PGS25OHD and PGSDBP scores, and individual SNPs rs4588 and rs7041 were associated with both 25OHD concentration and 1,25 dihydroxyvitamin D concentrations; (b) higher PGS25OHD was associated with decreased concentrations of triglycerides and cholesterol, and reduced risks of vitamin D deficiency, disorders of lipid metabolism, and diabetes. In general, the findings for the ...

Factors associated with development of retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at onset and within three years after diagnosis
CONCLUSION: These findings indicate that the risk of developing diabetes retinopathy is present early on at onset and within the first three years of diabetes diagnosis. This highlights the importance of promptly regulating glucose- and blood-pressure levels and follow up kidney dysfunction to mitigate the risk of diabetes retinopathy.PMID:38647202 | DOI:10.1080/02813432.2024.2329215 (Source: Primary Care)

Establishment of pregnancy-specific lipid reference intervals in pregnant women in a single-centre and assessment of the predictive value of early lipids for gestational diabetes mellitus: a prospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: This study established pregnancy-specific lipid RI for pregnant women in a single centre in the Beijing area of China. Pregnant women with TG ≥ 2.375 mmol/L in the first trimester were at significantly increased risk for GDM.PMID:38646991 | DOI:10.5603/ep.98554 (Source: Endokrynologia Polska)

Effect of moxibustion on the SIRT1/FOXO3a signaling pathway in ApoE(-/-) mice with atherosclerosis
CONCLUSIONS: Moxibustion can reduce the body weight of AS model mice, regulate lipid levels, repair vascular intima, and alleviate endothelial damage. Its mechanism of action may be related to the regulation of the SIRT1/FOXO3a signaling pathway to improve oxidative damage.PMID:38649205 | DOI:10.13702/j.1000-0607.20230578 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Exploring of gut microbiota features in dyslipidemia and chronic coronary syndrome patients undergoing coronary angiography
The objective of this study was to study the diversity and composition of gut microbiota and related clinical parameters among CCS patients undergoing coronary angiography and dyslipidemia patients in comparison to healthy volunteers in Thailand. CCS patients had more risk factors and higher inflammatory markers, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) than others. The alpha diversity was lower in dyslipidemia and CCS patients than in the healthy group. A significant difference in the composition of gut microbiota was observed among the three groups. The relative abundance of Proteobacteria, Fusobacteria, Enterobacter...
