Efficacy of Brolucizumab in Polyp Regression of Treatment-Na ïve Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy and Its Effect on One-Year Treatment Outcome
CONCLUSION: Intravitreal brolucizumab injection effectively improved visual and anatomical outcomes and achieved significant polyp regression in treatment-naïve PCV patients. Complete polyp regression and the reduction rate of vascular lesion size and polyp size after loading injection significantly influence the treatment outcome of PCV patients. However, careful monitoring and preoperative warning is warranted due to occurrence of brolucizumab-related IOI.PMID:38584441 | DOI:10.3341/kjo.2023.0145 (Source: Korean Journal of Ophthalmology : KJO)

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1441: Pathological Insights: Enhanced Vision Transformers for the Early Detection of Colorectal Cancer
Choe Endoscopic pathological findings of the gastrointestinal tract are crucial for the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). Previous deep learning works, aimed at improving CRC detection performance and reducing subjective analysis errors, are limited to polyp segmentation. Pathological findings were not considered and only convolutional neural networks (CNNs), which are not able to handle global image feature information, were utilized. This work introduces a novel vision transformer (ViT)-based approach for early CRC detection. The core components of the proposed approach are ViTCol, a boosted vision transfo...

Cascade-EC Network: Recognition of Gastrointestinal Multiple Lesions Based on EfficientNet and CA_stm_Retinanet
AbstractCapsule endoscopy (CE) is non-invasive and painless during gastrointestinal examination. However, capsule endoscopy can increase the workload of image reviewing for clinicians, making it prone to missed and misdiagnosed diagnoses. Current researches primarily concentrated on binary classifiers, multiple classifiers targeting fewer than four abnormality types and detectors within a specific segment of the digestive tract, and segmenters for a single type of anomaly. Due to intra-class variations, the task of creating a unified scheme for detecting multiple gastrointestinal diseases is particularly challenging. A cas...

Recurrent fibroepithelial vaginal polyp in a 2-year-old girl: a case report and review of the literature
CONCLUSION: This case report highlights recurrent FEPV in a 2-year-old girl. Despite previous excisions, polyps recurred, emphasizing the need for complete excision. Documenting cases will enhance our understanding. Further research is needed to elucidate the pathogenesis of paediatric FEPV. Early detection, treatment, and follow-up are essential for optimal management.PMID:38576976 | PMC:PMC10990311 | DOI:10.1097/MS9.0000000000001836 (Source: Annals of Medicine)
