Decreased Serum Levels of the Insulin Resistance-Related microRNA miR-320a in Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
In conclusion, we demonstrated a significantly reduced serum level of the IR-associated miR-320a in our patient cohort. This result once again demonstrates the close relationship between metabolic disorders and the dysregulation of microRNA expression patterns in PCOS.PMID:38666942 | PMC:PMC11049427 | DOI:10.3390/cimb46040212 (Source: Current Issues in Molecular Biology)

Tenascin C activates the toll ‑like receptor 4/NF‑κB signaling pathway to promote the development of polycystic ovary syndrome
In conclusion, knockdown of TNC could ameliorate PCOS in both rats and a cell model by inhibiting cell apoptosis, oxidative stress and inflammation via the suppression of the TLR4/NF‑κB signaling pathway.PMID:38666538 | DOI:10.3892/mmr.2024.13230 (Source: Molecular Medicine Reports)

Comparative analysis of oral and local intraovarian administration of metformin and nanoparticles (NPs11) in alleviating testosterone-induced polycystic ovary syndrome in rats
This study aims to compare the oral and local treatments of metformin or its nanoparticles (NPs11) for ameliorating PCOS in rats. Rats were divided into 4 groups: the control group with no drug treatment; the PCOS group, where subcutaneous testosterone was given (10 mg/kg/day) for 28 days; the MET group, where metformin was administered orally or locally; and the NP group, where metformin NPs11 were also administered orally or locally. Oral administrations were for 21 days, while local injection was performed once surgically. After 7 weeks, all rats were sacrificed; blood glucose and serum hormonal levels and lipid profile...

Association of lipid profile and obesity in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome
Conclusion. The results showed that abnormal lipid profile and obesity have a significant association with PCOS patients. Regular monitoring and treatment of PCOS patients are required to reduce the risk of infertility, MetS, and CVD.PMID:38656255 | DOI:10.2478/enr-2024-0009 (Source: Endocrine Regulations)

Follicular fluid-derived exosomal LncRNA LIPE-AS1 modulates steroid metabolism and survival of granulosa cells leading to oocyte maturation arrest in polycystic ovary syndrome
ConclusionThese findings suggested that the increased expression of LIPE-AS1, facilitated by follicular fluid exosomes, had a significant impact on both oocyte maturation and embryo development. We demonstrated the ceRNA mechanism involving LIPE-AS1, miR-4306, and LHCGR as a regulator of hormone production and metabolism. These findings indicate that LIPE-AS1 is essential in PCOS oocyte maturation and revealed a ceRNA network of LIPE-AS1 and provided new information on abnormal steroid metabolism and oocyte development in PCOS.
