Dosimetric correlates of toxicities and quality of life following two-fraction stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) for prostate cancer
CONCLUSION: Using real-life patient data from prospective trials with medium-term follow-up, we identified additional dose constraints that may mitigate the risk of late treatment-related toxicities for two-fraction prostate SABR.PMID:37619656 | DOI:10.1016/j.radonc.2023.109864 (Source: Radiotherapy and Oncology : journal of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology)

Anogenital distance, a biomarker of fetal androgen exposure and the risk of prostate cancer: A case-control study
CONCLUSIONS: This research suggests that the same gestational environmental exposures, could represent a weak androgen signaling and may also have an increased risk of prostate cancer.PMID:37606191 | DOI:10.1177/03915603231192736 (Source: Cancer Control)

Relationship between doses to anatomical structures and erectile dysfunction after radiotherapy for prostate cancer: A systematic review
CONCLUSION: We currently have little data to show a correlation between erectile dysfunction and sexual structures. It would be necessary to have additional prospective studies evaluating the impact of an optimization on these sexual structures on erectile dysfunction.PMID:37596125 | DOI:10.1016/j.canrad.2023.07.010 (Source: Cancer Radiotherapie)

Testicular Cancer
Unmet holistic needs of various cancer populations, with examples including prostate, bladder, gynecologic, kidney, penile, breast, and colorectal, along with holistic impacts of cancer on older adults, have been defined by a growing number of systematic reviews. Unfortunately, there continues to be a lack of clinical insight into the unique needs of younger men with testicular cancer. Survival rate based on low mortality rates and good prognosis if early detection and treatment implementation grows the number of men who need support as long-term survivors with an average life expectancy of approximately 30 to 50  years a...

Improved outcome in penile cancer with radiologically enhanced stratification protocol for lymph node staging procedures: a study in 316 inguinal basins with a mean follow-up of 5 years
Lymph node metastasis is the main determinant of survival in penile cancer patients. Conventionally clinical palpability is used to stratify patients to Inguinal Lymph node dissection (ILND) if clinically node... (Source: BMC Urology)

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4068: Malignancy Associated with Low-Risk HPV6 and HPV11: A Systematic Review and Implications for Cancer Prevention
o Rui M. Gil da Costa High-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) is etiologically related to cervical cancer, other anogenital cancers and oropharyngeal carcinomas. Low-risk HPV, especially HPV6 and HPV11, cause genital warts and laryngeal papillomas. However, the accumulating data suggests that HPV6 and HPV11 may cause malignant lesions at non-cervical anatomic sites. This review aims to estimate the proportions of single and dual HPV6/11 infections in multiple cancers reported in the last 10 years in the Cochrane, Embasa and PubMed databases. Secondly, the genomes of HPV6/11 were compared with the most common high-risk g...

Penile amputation after neonatal circumcision: a case report
CONCLUSION: The authors present here a case of a 7-day-old boy who had ritual circumcision with a cauter complicated by an entire penile amputation, which was treated with the insertion of a catheter to prevent the closure of the urethra. The patient reported his penis was circumcised with cautery one day later the glans and the entire penis became discolored and necrosis, unfortunately, the entire penis was lost with the overlying skin.PMID:37554901 | PMC:PMC10405999 | DOI:10.1097/MS9.0000000000000996 (Source: Annals of Medicine)

Applying the COM-B behaviour model to understand factors which impact school immunisation nurses' attitudes towards designing and delivering a HPV educational intervention in post-primary schools for 15-17  year old students in Northern Ireland, UK
CONCLUSION: IMNs feel that they are the most appropriate professionals to design/deliver HPV education for 15-17 year old students. National policy change, based on collaboration between the Public Health Agency and Education Authority, is a key factor in facilitating IMNs to implement this school-based HPV education intervention.PMID:37543445 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.07.066 (Source: Vaccine)
