Multi-planner validation of RapidPlan knowledge-based model for volumetric modulated arc therapy in prostate cancer
CONCLUSION: The automated plans of the RP model might benefit from further fine-tuning of the dose constraints of the normal organs, although both procedure plans are acceptable and fulfill the clinical protocol goals so that the RP model can enhance the efficacy and quality of plans.PMID:38009569 | DOI:10.1002/acm2.14223 (Source: Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics)

The role of radiotherapy in the management of squamous cell cancer of the penis
ConclusionsRadiotherapy has a well-defined role to play in treatment of squamous cell cancers of other sites, such as vulva, anal canal, uterine cervix and head and neck malignancies. Emerging data support the incorporation of radiotherapy into treatment paradigms for penile cancer. (Source: World Journal of Urology)

Preferring Lateral Video Endoscopic Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection Over Classic Video Endoscopic Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Penis: Lessons Learnt from Twenty-One Patients at a Single Center
CONCLUSION: The L-VEIL is safe and feasible, and there is a reduction (~30%) in complications; oncological outcomes are also not affected. It has better ergonomics, resulting in ease and comfort for surgeons when compared with classical VEIL.PMID:37987306 | DOI:10.5152/tud.2023.23097 (Source: Cell Research)

Efficacy of ICG fluorescence-guided inguinal lymphadenectomy for penile cancer: a randomized trial
CONCLUSION: ICG fluorescence-guided inguinal lymphadenectomy was safe for patients with penile cancer. This procedure can improve the number of inguinal lymph nodes retrieved and reduce lymph node noncompliance without increased complications. ICG fluorescence-guided inguinal lymphadenectomy is beneficial and recommended for selected patients with penile cancer.PMID:37983593 | DOI:10.1111/bju.16231 (Source: Cancer Control)

Postoperative Metachronous Metastasis of Bladder Cancer to Penis: A Case Report
CONCLUSIONS: Although penile metastasis of bladder cancer typically indicates an advanced stage of the malignant tumour and poor prognosis, we recommend that male patients with a history of bladder cancer should undergo a regular clinical examination of the penis to rapidly detect the disease and receive early treatment. In this case, despite treatment measures such as systemic chemotherapy and penectomy, the patient's prognosis remained poor.PMID:37960961 | DOI:10.56434/j.arch.esp.urol.20237608.76 (Source: Archivos Espanoles de Urologia)
