Effects of two patient-specific dosing protocols on measurement of myocardial blood flow with 3D 82Rb cardiac PET
ConclusionsPatient-specific dosing according to BMI is an effective method for guideline-directed dose reduction while maintaining image quality and accuracy for routine MBF and MFR quantification. (Source: European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging)

Cardiac MRI and blood biomarkers for evaluation of radiation-induced cardiotoxicity in breast cancer patients: results of a phase II clinical trial
CONCLUSIONS: In this prospective study of women with left-sided breast cancer treated with contemporary treatment planning, cardiac radiation doses were very low relative to historical doses reported by Darby et al. Although we observed significant changes in T1 and RV EF shortly after RT, these changes were not correlated with whole heart or substructure doses. Serum biomarker analysis of cardiac injury demonstrates an interesting trend between markers and MHD that warrants further investigation.PMID:34509552 | DOI:10.1016/j.ijrobp.2021.08.039 (Source: Ann Oncol)

Clinical experience with regadenoson SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging: insights into patient characteristics, safety, and impact of results on clinical management
Abstract The Henry Ford Hospital (HFH) regadenoson (REG) registry includes patients with a variety of comorbidities allowing for the evaluation of outcomes in a large, unselected population. Using a database of electronic medical records and nuclear cardiology reports, patients aged  >  18 years who underwent REG-facilitated single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) testing at HFH between January 2009 and August 2012 were identified. The primary objective was to describe the clinical and demographic characteristics of patients who had undergone REG only vs REG WALK (RE G + low-level exercise) SPECT....

Left ventricular ejection fraction, myocardial blood flow and hemodynamic variables in adenosine and regadenoson vasodilator 82-Rubidium PET
ConclusionsRest/stress LVEF, LVEF reserve and MBF values are lower in abnormal compared to normal scans. Adenosine and regadenoson seem to have similar effect on stress LVEF, MBF and hemodynamics. A stress LVEF ≥70% has a high NPV to exclude relevant ischemia. (Source: Journal of Nuclear Cardiology)

Quantitative myocardial perfusion response to adenosine and regadenoson in patients with suspected coronary artery disease
ConclusionThe correlation between regadenoson- and adenosine-induced hyperemic MBF was strong but the agreement was only moderate indicating that established cut-off values for150-water PET should be used cautiously if using regadenoson as vasodilator. (Source: Journal of Nuclear Cardiology)
