Regadenoson Reduces Soluble Receptor for Advanced Glycation End-Products in Lung Recipients
CONCLUSIONS: In vivo and in vitro studies suggest that A2AR activation reduces sRAGE in part by inhibiting MMP-9 production by monocytes/macrophages. These results suggest a novel molecular mechanism by which A2AR agonists reduces primary graft dysfunction.PMID:36921749 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2023.03.007 (Source: The Annals of Thoracic Surgery)

Indicators of abnormal PET coronary flow capacity in detecting cardiac ischemia
AbstractCoronary flow capacity (CFC) categorizes severity of left ventricular (LV) ischemia by PET myocardial blood flow (MBF). Our objective was to correlate abnormal CFC with other indicators of regional ischemia. Data were examined retrospectively for 231 patients evaluated for known/suspected CAD who underwent rest and regadenoson-stress82Rb PET/CT. MBF and myocardial flow reserve (MFR) were quantified, from which CFC was categorized as Normal CFC (1), Minimally reduced (2), Mildly reduced (3), Moderately reduced (4), and Severely reduced (5) for the three main arterial territories as well as globally. Relative perfusi...

What Is the Rhythm?
An 88-year-old white man presented to our hospital for a regadenoson stress test. He had a history of coronary artery disease and had stents placed in both the left anterior descending and the left circumflex arteries 7  years earlier. He was taking metoprolol succinate 25 mg/day. He was not taking digoxin or any antiarrhythmic drugs. A recent echocardiogram showed normal left ventricular systolic function and mild aortic stenosis. The nursing staff noticed severe bradycardia. Blood pressure was normal, and the p atient was asymptomatic. (Source: The American Journal of Cardiology)
