Impact of non-uniform attenuation correction in a dynamic [18F]-FDOPA brain PET/MRI study.
Abstract BACKGROUND: PET (positron emission tomography) biokinetic modelling relies on accurate quantitative data. One of the main corrections required in PET imaging to obtain high quantitative accuracy is tissue attenuation correction (AC). Incorrect non-uniform PET-AC may result in local bias in the emission images, and thus in relative activity distributions and time activity curves for different regions. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)-based AC is an active area of research in PET/MRI neuroimaging, where several groups developed in the last few years different methods to calculate accurate attenuation (μ-...

CONCLUSION: In recent years solid data have been accumulated with respect to the interpretation of bone mineral density (BMD) measurements in children and adolescents. Based on these data from the literature and given that the radiation exposure is also very low, it is now possible to clinically apply BMD measurements in this population using dual energy X‑ray absorption (DXA) technology for risk evaluation and diagnosis, taking the respective phase of development and body length into consideration. Dynamic measurements over time appear to be especially valuable in the context of individual clinical data. Hence, BMD meas...

Key Features Relevant to Select Antigens and TCR From the MHC-Mismatched Repertoire to Treat Cancer.
AM Abstract Adoptive transfer of T cells transgenic for tumor-reactive T-cell receptors (TCR) is an attractive immunotherapeutic approach. However, clinical translation is so far limited due to challenges in the identification of suitable target antigens as well as TCRs that are concurrent safe and efficient. Definition of key characteristics relevant for effective and specific tumor rejection is essential to improve current TCR-based adoptive T-cell immunotherapies. We here characterized in-depth two TCRs derived from the human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-mismatched allogeneic repertoire targeting two different myel...

Experimental 177Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand therapy in a patient with extended metastasized leiomyosarcoma.
;tzen U Abstract Systemic radionuclide therapy with 177Lu-PSMA-617 is a novel treatment option in patients with metastasized and castration-resistant prostate cancer 4. The molecular target of the 177Lu-PSMA-617 radioligand therapy is the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) highly expressed on prostate cancer cells. Beyond the enhanced accumulation of PSMA on prostate cancer cells, PSMA expression is also found on the molecular surface or in the tumor-associated neovasculature of various tumor tissues including sarcomas of the soft tissue 2. Thus, PSMA has theoretically been discussed as a possible future...

PSMA-ligand PET allows a more accurate therapeutic response evaluation of bone metastases in prostate cancer compared to computed tomography.
Abstract A patient with bone metastases of prostate cancer was referred for 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT. Compared to a 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT four months previously, the CT-component of the current PET/CT showed morphological progress in all lesions despite continuous therapy with docetaxel and denosumab. Contrarily, the PET-component showed a reduction of tracer-uptake, which correlated with PSA decrease between the two PET/CT-scans (16.2 ng/ml vs. 3.1 ng/ml). This case highlights 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT as a promising tool for therapy monitoring of prostate cancer and could serve as a basis for a novel monitoring...

Whole-Body [18F]-FDG-PET/MRI for Oncology: A Consensus Recommendation.
, Vorstand der Deutschen Röntgengesellschaft (DRG) und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Nuklearmedizin (DGN) in alphabetischer Reihenfolge: Abstract Combined PET/MR imaging (PET/MRI) was proposed for patient management in 2006 with first commercial versions of integrated whole-body systems becoming available as of 2010. PET/MRI followed the prior evolution of hybrid imaging as attested by the successful adoption of combined PET/CT and SPECT/CT since the early 2000 s. Today, around 150 whole-body PET/MRI systems have become operational worldwide. One of the main application fields of PET/MRI is oncologic ...

[Risk Factors for Permanent Postoperative Hypoparathyreoidism].
DISCUSSION: We identified associated factors for permanent postoperative hypoparathyreoidism. Larger multicentre studies should be performed for validation as possible relevant risk factors. Knowledge of risk factors might help to avoid this complication and to manage close follow-up and therapy in patients affected.
