Hormone replacement therapy in women with iatrogenic premature ovarian insufficiency after radiotherapy for cervical cancer: A retrospective cohort and survey study

Reproductive and Social Policies, Sociopolitical Stress, and Implications for Maternal and Child Health Equity
AbstractPurpose of ReviewAlthough many environmental exposures (e.g., air pollution) are geographically patterned and persist as a result of historic economic policies (e.g., redlining), the impact of reproductive and social policies on maternal and child health remains incompletely understood. Reproductive and social policies are increasingly important for maternal and child health equity, particularly following the 2022 US Supreme Court decision inDobbs v Jackson Women ’s Health Organization ( “Dobbs decision”), which restricted access to abortion. Here, we summarize the literature from original research studies ex...

Protecting minors from tobacco products: public interest litigation enables enforcement in China
To reduce access to and uptake of tobacco products among minors, national laws, such as the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Protection of Minors (LPM) and the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Tobacco Monopoly (LTM), stipulate that retail stores cannot sell tobacco products near primary or secondary schools, where local governments specify the exact distance between tobacco retailers and schools. Although such a location-based sales restriction could reduce youth exposure to tobacco,1 there remains a gap in the enforcement of this law in China. In this Advocacy in Action letter, we describe ...

Examining Differences in the Genetic and Functional Architecture of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Diagnosed in Childhood and Adulthood
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated that ADHD diagnosed later in life shows much stronger genetic overlap with internalizing disorders and related traits. This may indicate the potential clinical relevance of distinguishing these subgroups or increased misdiagnosis for those diagnosed later in life. Top transcriptome-wide SEM results implicated genes related to neuronal function and clinical characteristics (e.g., sleep).PMID:38633226 | PMC:PMC11021367 | DOI:10.1016/j.bpsgos.2024.100307 (Source: Biol Sci Space)
