Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1513: Time-Restricted Feeding Attenuates Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis and Hepatocellular Carcinoma in Obese Male Mice
In this study, we tested a time-restricted feeding (TRF) nutritional intervention in mouse models of MASH and HCC. We show that TRF abrogated metabolic dysregulation induced by a Western diet without any calorie restriction or weight loss. TRF improved insulin sensitivity and reduced hyperinsulinemia, liver steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis. Importantly, TRF inhibited liver tumors in two mouse models of obesity-driven HCC. Our data suggest that TRF is likely to be effective in abrogating MASH and HCC and warrant further studies of time-restricted eating in humans with MASH who are at higher risk of developing HCC. Triglyceride-glucose index and triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio predict the prognosis in patients with type B aortic dissection receiving thoracic endovascular aortic repair
CONCLUSIONS: Elevated baseline TG/HDL-c ratio and TG/HDL-c ≥4.11 were significantly related to a higher risk of 1-year all-cause mortality among TBAD patients undergoing TEVAR. At the same time, the low TG/HDL-c ratio was also independently associated with 1-year all-cause mortality. Zinc-chelating BET bromodomain inhibitors equally target islet endocrine cell types
We report the synthesis of a novel, Zn2+-chelating derivative of the pan-BETi (+)-JQ1, (+)-JQ1-DPA, in which (+)-JQ1 was conjugated to dipicolyl amine (DPA). As controls, we synthesized (+)-JQ1-DBA, a non-Zn2+-chelating derivative, and (-)-JQ1-DPA, an inactive enantiomer that chelates Zn2+. Molecular modeling and biophysical assays showed that (+)-JQ1-DPA and (+)-JQ1-DBA retain potent binding to BET bromodomains in vitro.
