The value of distinguishing patients with isolated subsegmental pulmonary embolism presenting to two tertiary hospitals in Australia: an observational study
This study included all patients with a positive CTPA for pulmonary embolism (PE) admitted between 2017 and 2021 to two Australian-tertiary-hospitals. Frailty was determined by use of the hospital-frailty-risk-score (HFRS). Competing-risk-analysis and Cox-proportional hazard models determined the cumulative-risk of VTE and mortality within 3 months and 1 year of index PE event after adjustment for frailty and other variables. Incidence of Orthohantavirus infection in humans follows observed changes in rodent reservoirs, Hubei Province, China (1984-2010)
In this study, we analyzed the incidence of Orthohantavirus infection in humans and observed changes in rodent reservoirs in Hubei Province.RESULTS: The results indicated that although the incidence of HFRS declined from the 1990s, the human inapparent infection did not decrease dramatically. This report describes the case of a 55-year-old man with complaints of fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. His symptoms showed no significant improvement after routine anti-infective, antipyretic, and other symptomatic supportive treatments administered at a local clinic.
