Microsurgical clipping and endovascular management of unruptured anterior circulation aneurysms: how age, frailty, and comorbidity indexes influence outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: Frailty affects surgical outcomes significantly and outperforms age and other comorbidity indexes in predicting outcome. It is imperative to include frailty assessment in preoperative planning.PMID:36461843 | DOI:10.3171/2022.8.JNS22372 (Source: Journal of Neurosurgery)

Early Warning Models for Predicting Severity in febrile and non-febrile stages of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome
Jpn J Infect Dis. 2022 Nov 30. doi: 10.7883/yoken.JJID.2022.307. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe treatment of severe hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) cases is difficult. We lack an early warning model for severe HFRS patients today. We retrospectively collected the data of 235 HFRS patients from January 2013 to December 2019, as well as 394 laboratory indicators. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to construct an early warning model for severe disease. The accuracy of the model was evaluated based on the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The area under curve (AUCs) ...

Spatial Heterogeneity and Influencing Factors of HFRS Epidemics in Rural and Urban Areas: A Study in Guanzhong Plain of Shaanxi Province, China
CONCLUSION: Topography was the primary key factor for HFRS prevalence in the Chang'an District and Hu County, and the spatial differentiation of HFRS was dominated by precipitation and population density in the northern plains. Compared with the influencing factors of the relatively developed Chang'an District, the developing Hu County was more affected by socioeconomic factors. When formulating targeted HFRS epidemic prevention and control strategies in the targeted areas, it is crucial to consider the local economic development state and combine natural environmental factors, including the meteorological environment and ...
