Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy and Transoral Robotic Surgery for Oropharynx Cancer and Quality of Life
To the Editor To deintensify treatment (avoid overtreatment) for patients with human papillomavirus virus –associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HPV-OPSCC) is certainly one of the hot topics in head and neck cancer, driven by the goal of enhancing quality of life. Although various strategies are under exploration, the unconventional inclusion of neoadjuvant chemotherapy by Silver et al has captured our attention. Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy and Transoral Robotic Surgery for Oropharynx Cancer and Quality of Life —Reply
In Reply In reaction to our recent report on quality-of-life outcomes following neoadjuvant chemotherapy and transoral robotic surgery (NECTORS) for human papillomavirus virus –associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HPV-OPSCC), Granell and Gutierrez-Fonseca have raised concerns to which we would like to respond. Immediate Partial Breast and Nipple-Areola Complex Reconstruction Using a Superficial Circumflex Iliac Artery Perforator Flap
Arch Plast Surg. 2024 Jan 24;51(2):150-155. doi: 10.1055/a-2223-5325. eCollection 2024 Mar.ABSTRACTThe superficial circumflex iliac artery perforator (SCIP) flap is a versatile flap that has been described for various applications, mostly for lower extremity coverage and head and neck reconstructions. However, there are few publications reporting its use for breast reconstruction, mainly because of its low volume availability. In this article, we present the case of a patient who successfully underwent a partial breast and immediate nipple-areola complex (NAC) reconstruction with an SCIP flap. She had been previously recon...

A minimalist cancer cell membrane-shielded biomimetic nanoparticle for nasopharyngeal carcinoma active-targeting therapy
Colloids Surf B Biointerfaces. 2024 Apr 8;238:113909. doi: 10.1016/j.colsurfb.2024.113909. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a common head and neck malignancy, which is characterized by high incidence and aggression with poor diagnosis and limited therapeutic opportunity. The innovative strategy for achieving precise NPC active-targeting drug delivery has emerged as a prominent focus in clinical research. Here, a minimalist cancer cell membrane (CCM) shielded biomimetic nanoparticle (NP) was designed for NPC active-targeting therapy. Chemotherapeutant model drug doxorubicin (DOX) was loaded in...
