Evaluating the safety and efficacy of cryopreserved ovarian tissue transplantation in leukemia patients with different bone marrow remission status using xenotransplantation
ConclusionFor leukemia patients having ovarian tissue preserved in the first and only centralized human ovarian tissue cryobank in China, immunodeficient mice xenotransplantation can be a method to evaluate the safety and efficacy of OTT; the risk of malignant cell reimplantation due to OTT is higher in leukemia patients with MRD-positive status than those with MRD-negative status before OTC. Cortical lipid metabolic pathway alteration of early Alzheimer ’s disease and candidate drugs screen
ConclusionsAD cortical lipid metabolism disorder was associated with the dysregulation of the PPAR signaling pathway, glycerophospholipid metabolism, adipocytokine signaling pathway, fatty acid biosynthesis, fatty acid degradation, ferroptosis, biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, and fatty acid elongation. Candidate drugs including bisphenol A, benzo(a)pyrene, ethinyl estradiol, and active compounds including adenosine phosphate, oxidized Photinus luciferin, and BMS-488043 have potential therapeutic effects on cortical lipid metabolism disorder of early AD. Qixian granule inhibits ferroptosis in vascular endothelial cells by modulating TRPML1 in the lysosome to prevent postmenopausal atherosclerosis
CONCLUSION: QXG inhibited GPX4 and FTH1-mediated ferroptosis in vascular endothelial cells through up-regulating GPER/TRPML1 signaling, providing a potential therapeutic option for postmenopausal females seeking a safe and effective medication to prevent atherosclerosis. The study highlights QXG's estrogenic properties and its promising role in combating postmenopausal atherosclerosis.PMID:38521431 | DOI:10.1016/j.jep.2024.118076 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Liraglutide improved the reproductive function of obese mice by upregulating the testicular AC3/cAMP/PKA pathway
CONCLUSIONS: Liraglutide can improve the sex hormone levels and semen quality of obese male mice. In addition to its weight loss effect, liraglutide can improve the reproductive function of obese male mice, which may also be related to the upregulation of AC3/cAMP/PKA pathway in the testis. This work lays the groundwork for future clinical studies.PMID:38509558 | DOI:10.1186/s12958-024-01202-0 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Health risks of Bisphenol-A exposure: From Wnt signaling perspective
Environ Res. 2024 Mar 19:118752. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2024.118752. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHuman beings are routinely exposed to chronic and low dose of Bisphenols (BPs) due to their widely pervasiveness in the environment. BPs hold similar chemical structures to 17β-estradiol (E2) and thyroid hormone, thus posing threats to human health by rendering the endocrine system dysfunctional. Among BPs, Bisphenol-A (BPA) is the best-known and extensively studied endocrine disrupting compound (EDC). BPA possesses multisystem toxicity, including reproductive toxicity, neurotoxicity, hepatoxicity and nephrotoxicity. Particul...
